be delivered to the master of any of the said vessels,
or other officer or agent of the Contractors in the
charge or management of any vessel employed in
the performance of this agreement, or left for the
Contractors at their usual or last known office or
house of business in Wellington; and any notices or
directions so given or left shall be binding on the
Contractors: Provided always that any notice of
termination of this contract shall be served on the
Contractors, their officers, servants, or agents, at their
office in Wellington.

  1. It is lastly agreed by and between the said
    parties hereto, that the service hereby contracted
    for shall be carried on and shall continue in force
    until determined under the provisions of the
    twelfth clause hereof, otherwise the said service and
    contract shall continue until the completion of the
    voyage from the Manukau to the Bluff in the month
    of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy,
    or until the completion of the second period of six
    months' service, as provided in clause fifteen, if the
    notice therein mentioned be given, except in the case
    of habitual negligence, or wilful default, as herein-
    before provided.

presents have hereunto set their hands

NOTICE is hereby given, that an Iron Beacon,
painted red, has been erected on Hapuka Rock,
Astrolabe Road.

It is an iron rod, surmounted by a spherical cage,
three feet in diameter, and will stand about thirteen
feet out of water at high-water spring tides.

This rock, instead of being awash at high water,
as described in the "New Zealand Pilot," and New
Zealand Sheet Chart, No. VII., is only about two
feet out of water at low-water spring tides.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Government
Insurance and Annuities Offices, under "The
Government Annuities Act, 1869," have been opened
at the Chief Post Offices at Auckland, New Plymouth,
Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch,
Dunedin, and Invercargill, and at the Post Offices at
Hokitika, Greymouth, Westport, and Charleston.

All persons wishing to obtain Annuities, immediate
or deferred, Life Insurances, or other advantages
under the Act, will receive every information and
the necessary forms on application at either of the
above-named offices.

Deaths, and Marriages in New Zealand, do hereby
certify that the foregoing NAME of an OFFICIATING
MINISTER, within the meaning of "The Marriage
Act, 1854," has been sent in to me in addition to
the names in Lists published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 6, of the 29th of January; No 7, of
the 5th of February; No. 13, of the 12th of March;
and No. 21, of the 20th of April, in the present year.
