ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Auckland, this
nineteenth day of April, 1870.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS at a sitting of the Native Land
Court of New Zealand, held at Kapanga,
in the District of Hauraki, Province of Auckland,
on the twenty-first day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy, the claim of Wiremu
Keepa Hoete and others to a piece of land called
Motutere, situate at Coromandel, in the district
aforesaid, was heard, and a certain order was there-
upon made by the Court aforesaid: And whereas
it is enacted by "The Native Lands Act, 1865," and
"The Native Lands Act, 1867," that the Governor
in Council may order a rehearing of any matter
judicially heard before the Court aforesaid, before
one or more Judges of the Court, and one or more
Assessors, as may be specified in the Order in Coun-
cil ordering such rehearing, and within such a period
of time as may be limited in such Order, provided
that no such order for rehearing shall be made after
three months shall have elapsed from the date of the
original decision: And whereas it is expedient that
the said claim shall be reheard before the said Court:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony, in pursuance and exercise of the above
recited power and authority, doth hereby order that
the aforesaid claim of Wiremu Keepa Hoete and
others to the aforesaid piece of land shall be reheard
before one Judge of the said Court and two Assessors
thereof; and doth order that such rehearing shall take
place before the thirty-first day of December next.

WHEREAS by "The Steam Navigation Act
Amendment Act, 1867," it is enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Postmaster-General for the
time being, at any time and from time to time, as he
shall think fit, by any document in writing under his
hand, to delegate to any person or persons all or any
of the powers, duties, or authorities by "The Steam
Navigation Act, 1866," or by the said "Steam Navi-
gation Act, Amendment Act, 1867," conferred or
imposed on him:

Now therefore I, Julius Vogel, Postmaster-General
of New Zealand, do hereby delegate unto

WILLIAM SEED, (of Wellington,) Esq.,
Secretary of Customs, all the powers, duties, and
authorities conferred or imposed upon the Postmaster-
General of New Zealand for the time being, by the
said "Steam Navigation Act, 1866," and the said
"Steam Navigation Act Amendment Act, 1867," and
to exercise the same for the whole of New Zealand,
except such of the powers, duties, or authorities as
are so conferred or imposed by section twelve of the
said "Steam Navigation Act, 1866."

IT is hereby notified, that a Writ issued for the
election of a Member of the House of Represen-
tatives for the Electoral District of Caversham, has
been returned with a Certificate to the effect that

elected.

kouaiti, Manuherikia, and Gold Fields Towns.

Zealand Gazette, No. 47, of the 7th day of August,
1868.
