TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor, by Warrant under his hand, from
time to time to appoint polling places for each
Electoral District, within or without the limits
thereof, and to appoint any one of such places to be
the principal polling place for the district, and all or
any of such polling places at any time to abolish, and
to appoint other polling places in lieu thereof:
And whereas, by Warrant under the hand of the
Governor, bearing date the fourteenth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, the
Court House, Waiau, was appointed the principal
polling place for the District of Cheviot, for the
election of Members of the House of Representatives:
And whereas it is expedient to abolish the same :
Now know ye that I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said Act,
do hereby abolish the above-named principal polling
place for the District of Cheviot for the election of
Members of the House of Representatives, and do
appoint in lieu thereof

George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued at Wellington, this
second day of April, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy.

WHEREAS by "The Lunatics Act, 1868," it is
enacted that the general accounts of the
Registrar of the Supreme Court of New Zealand
for the time being in each Judicial District, and (if
the Supreme Court shall at any time so order) the
accounts of the estate of any lunatic or lunatic
patient, shall be reviewed and audited by the
Auditor of Public Accounts, or such other person
or persons as the Governor shall from time to time
appoint: And whereas it is expedient to appoint
certain persons to audit the accounts of the several
Registrars of the Supreme Court under the said Act,
and if need be the accounts of the estates of lunatics
and lunatic patients:
Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance of the power and authority vested in me
by the said Act, do hereby appoint the several
persons whose names are set forth in the first
column of the Schedule hereto annexed, to be re-
spectively the persons by whom the general accounts
of the several Registrars of the Supreme Court
under the said Act, whose descriptions are set
opposite the names of the said persons respectively
in the second column of the said Schedule, and (if
the Supreme Court shall at any time so order) the
accounts of the estate of any lunatic or lunatic
patient coming under the administration of the said
Registrars respectively, shall be reviewed and audited.
