that this Act shall come into operation within such
part or parts of the said Province as the Superin-
tendent shall by such Proclamation define, and to
declare such part or parts to be a district or districts
under this Act, and such Proclamation shall also
designate the name by which such district or districts
shall be known:"

Now therefore I, William Rolleston, the Superin-
tendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance
of a Resolution of the Provincial Council in this
behalf, do hereby declare that "The Canterbury
Rivers Act, 1868," shall come into operation within
the district hereinafter described, and that the said
district shall be known as the South Waimakariri
District—that is to say, all that portion of the
Province comprised within the following limits:—

Commencing at a point on the right or south
bank of the River Waimakariri, the same being in
continuation of the western boundary of rural section
No. 9616; thence in a southerly direction along the
western boundary of that section to its junction with
the road south of section No. 6453; thence along
that road continued to its junction with Dawson's
and Waimakariri Road; thence along same to its
junction with the Lincoln and Prebbleton Road;
thence along same to its junction with the Elles-
mere Junction Road; thence along same to its
junction with the Springs Road, following same
to its intersection with the L.I. Creek, running
into the Lagoon near to rural section No. 2937;
thence by the west side of the Lagoon, and fol-
lowing the creek from same, running into Lake
Ellesmere near the mouth of the River Selwyn;
thence following the boundary of the Springs Road
District, by Lake Ellesmere and the right bank of
the River Halswell, to a point situated on the western
boundary of section No. 2439 produced; thence
along the line of that boundary to the foot of the
hills west of Trigonometrical Station No. 6; thence
along the foot of the hills and high-water mark of
Lake Ellesmere, to the southern boundary of section
No. 1755; thence along same easterly to the road
forming the eastern boundary of that section, con-
tinued along the north-east side of section No.
1447, and west of section No. 1250; thence along
Burke's Road under the hills following that road to
its junction with the Lower Lincoln Road, and fol-
lowing the Lower Lincoln Road to the north-western
corner of section No. 5786; thence easterly following
the northern boundary of that section at Trigono-
metric Station, C. 6, by the foot of the hills to the
old Lincoln Road; thence northerly following that
road to its junction with the road north of sections
Nos. 1108, 6357, 486, 338B, to the Hoon Hay Road,
following that road to the westernmost corner of
section No. 383, following the western, southern, and
eastern boundaries of that section to the road under
the Hills at Cashmere, following easterly along that
road to its junction with the road north of section 254,
following easterly along that road to its junction with
the Bridle Path; thence northerly following the Bridle
Path to its junction with the River Heathcote; thence
along the same to the eastern boundary of the Heath-
cote Road District, following same across the Estuary;
thence along the Sea Beach by the eastern boundary
of the Avon Road District to the mouth of the River
Waimakariri; thence following up the right bank of
the river to the commencing point.

Given under my hand at Christchurch, this
thirtieth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-nine.

District, Province of Auckland.

In Bankruptcy.

In the matter of Thomas Lindsay Macky and
Ranulph Dacre, of Auckland, merchants, bankrupts;
and in the matter of "The Debtors and Creditors
Act, 1862," "The Debtors and Creditors Act
Amendment Act, 1865," and "The Debtors and
Creditors Acts Amendment Act, 1866."

On Wednesday, the 8th day of January, 1868,–

UPON hearing of Mr John Benjamin Russell of
Counsel for the above-named bankrupts, and Mr.
McCormick and Mr. Whitaker of Counsel on behalf
of certain creditors of the said bankrupts, it is
ordered that the following creditors of the said
bankrupts, that is to say, the Bank of New South
Wales, the Bank of New Zealand, and Messrs.
Broadwood, be paid at the rate of ten shillings in the
pound on the amounts respectively proved by them
against the estate of the said bankrupts, if the said
estate will so admit, and the residue of the said
estate be equally divided amongst all the other
creditors of the said bankrupts who have proved
their debts: and it is further ordered, that on the
payment of the said first-named creditors at the rate
of ten shillings in the pound, if the estate will so
admit, or (if the estate will not admit of ten shillings
in the pound) on the division amongst them of such
amount as the estate realizes, that the said bank-
rupts be entitled to their discharge.

I, the undersigned JOHN GOODALL, hereby make
application to register "The Dumbarton Castle
Gold Mining Company, Registered," under "The
Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865;"
and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the
following statement is, to the best of my belief and
knowledge, true in every particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is "The
    Dumbarton Castle Gold Mining Company, Regis-
    tered,"

  2. The place of operations is at the Waiotahi
    Creek, at the Thames Gold Field, in the Province of
    Auckland.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is two
    thousand two hundred and forty pounds, in two
    hundred and twenty-four shares of ten pounds each.

  4. The amount already paid up is one thousand
    six hundred pounds.

  5. The name of the manager is John Goodall.

  6. The office of the Company is at Pollen Street,
    Shortland, Thames Gold Field aforesaid.

  7. The names and several residences of the share-
    holders, and the number of shares held by each at
    this date, are as follows:—
