A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by Proclamations bearing date the
twentieth day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-eight, and the third day of
July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine,
respectively, the limits of certain Ports in the
Colony of New Zealand were, for the purposes of
"The Marine Act, 1867," defined: And whereas it
is expedient to define the Port in the Schedule hereto
described:

Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf
by "The Marine Act, 1867," do hereby proclaim
the place mentioned in the second column of the
Schedule hereto to be a Port within the meaning of
the said Act, and do order that, for the purposes of
the said Act, the limits of the said Port shall be the
limits defined in the third column of the said
Schedule.

Nelson ... Charleston... A circle of one nautic mile radius from the Flag-staff.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington,
this ninth day of October, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-nine.

WHEREAS by "The Otago Municipal Corpora-
tions Empowering Act, 1865," it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor to appoint
the person elected to be Mayor of any city or in-
corporated town as therein mentioned to be a Justice
of the Peace for the Colony, provided that in every
such case such appointment shall continue no longer
than the Mayoralty of such person: And whereas
William Henry Whetter, Esquire, has been elected
Mayor of the Incorporated Town of Cromwell, in
the Province of Otago:

Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance and in
exercise of the power and authority vested in me in
that behalf, do hereby appoint the said

WILLIAM HENRY WHETTER, Esq.,

to be a Justice of the Peace for the Colony of New
Zealand.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority in me vested for this purpose under
and by virtue of "The Volunteer Act, 1865," I, Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint
the under-mentioned officers to be the persons within
their respective Provinces or Districts to receive the
arms, accoutrements, and other articles supplied to
any officer, non-commissioned officer, or volunteer, of
