THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
of Land Fund, in respect of sales of land within the
County of Westland, and being in his custody or
under his control on the coming into operation of
this Regulation, shall forthwith be remitted by him
to the Receiver of Land Revenue for the said County,
and shall be received and held by the Receiver of
Land Revenue for the said County upon and for the
like trusts and purposes as the same were paid to
and held by the said Receiver for the said Province,
and shall by him be dealt with accordingly.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
third day of February, 1869.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The County of Westland Act,
1868," it is provided that the Colonial Trea-
surer shall, out of the Land Fund arising within the
said County, pay such salaries to the Members of the
Waste Land Board of the County as the Governor in
Council shall from time to time direct: And whereas
the Waste Land Board for the said County consists by
law, amongst others, of one Chief Commissioner, and
it is expedient that a salary of two hundred pounds
per annum should be paid out of the said Land Fund
to the Chief Commissioner of such Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
exercise and pursuance of the power and authority
conferred on him in this behalf, and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of New Zea-
land, doth hereby order that a salary of two hundred
pounds per annum be paid out of the Land Fund of
the said County to the Chief Commissioner of the
Waste Land Board for the said County.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Lunatics Act, 1868," it
is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, from time to time, to order and
direct that all or any of the powers, functions, duties,
and authorities vested in or required to be performed
by the Governor or the Governor in Council, or the
Colonial Secretary, by the said Act, within any
Province or other District of the Colony, shall be
exercised or performed by the Superintendent of any
such Province, or by any other person the Governor
may think fit; and thereupon such functions, powers,
duties, and authorities may, by such Superintendent
or other person, be exercised or performed within the
Province or other District of the Colony specified:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir George Fergu-
son Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Colony, in pursuance and in exercise of the
power and authority for that purpose vested in him,
doth hereby order and direct that all the powers,
functions, duties, and authorities vested in or
required to be performed by the Governor, or the
Governor in Council, or the Colonial Secretary, by
"The Lunatics Act, 1868," within the County of
Westland, shall be exercised by the Chairman of the
Council of the said County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The County of Westland Act,
1868," provision is made for the establishment
of the County of Westland, and it is by the said Act
enacted that the Laws and Ordinances of the Province
of Canterbury in force within the said County at the
time of the coming into operation of the Act afore-
said, shall remain in force within the said County, so
far as the same are applicable, and that all powers
vested in the Superintendent of the said Province,
either solely or with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Province, should within
the said County become vested in the Governor, pro-
vided that the Governor may from time to time
delegate all or any of the said powers to such person
or persons as he may think fit, and may in like manner
alter and revoke such delegations: And whereas, by
an Order in Council bearing date the eighth day of
July, 1868, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony, did delegate to the Honourable James
Alexander Bonar, within the County of Westland, all
the powers theretofore of the Superintendent of the
Province of Canterbury exercisable within the
district comprised in the said County: And
whereas it is expedient to revoke the delegation of
the powers aforesaid so made to the Honorable James
Alexander Bonar, and to delegate the same powers
to Conrad Hoos, Esquire, Chairman of the County
Council of Westland, as hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir George Fer-
guson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, in
pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority
so vested in him as aforesaid, doth hereby, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Colony, revoke the delegation to the Honorable
James Alexander Bonar of the powers aforesaid, con-
tained in the said Order in Council of the eighth day
of July, 1868, and with the like advice and consent
doth hereby delegate to

CONRAD HOOS, Esq.,
Chairman of the County Council of Westland, within
the County of Westland, all the powers which before
the passing of "The County of Westland Act, 1868,"
were by law vested in the Superintendent of the
Province of Canterbury, and exercisable within the
district comprised in the said County of Westland.

WHEREAS by "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it
is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, under his hand and the Public
Seal of the Colony, from time to time to delegate to
the Superintendent of any Province, or to such other
person as the Governor may deem fit, all or any of
the powers vested in the Governor or the Governor
in Council by the said Act, except the powers con-
ferred by sections twenty-two, forty, forty-eight,
sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and seven of the
said Act, and in like manner to alter or revoke any
such powers: And whereas His Excellency Sir George
Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, did,
on the eighth day of July, 1868, with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the Colony,
delegate to the Honorable James Alexander Bonar,
all the powers vested in him under or by virtue of
"The Gold Fields Act, 1866," aforesaid, except the
