I, the undersigned JAMES THOMSON PETRIE, hereby
make application to register "The Democrat
Gold Mining Company, Registered," under the pro-
visions of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability
Act, 1865;" and I do solemnly and sincerely declare
that the following statement is, to the best of my
knowledge and belief, true in every particular,
namely :-
- The name and style of the Company is "The
Democrat Gold Mining Company, Registered." - The place of operations is at the Karaka Creek,
at the Thames Gold Field, in the Province of Auck-
land, in the Colony of New Zealand. - The nominal capital of the Company is three
thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven pounds ten
shillings (£3,937 10s.) in one thousand seven
hundred and fifty shares of two pounds five shillings
each. - The amount already paid up is three thousand
one hundred and ten pounds five shillings (£3,110 5s.).

man's and Tinker's Gullies, at the Thames Gold
Field, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of
New Zealand. - The nominal capital of the Company is twenty
thousand pounds, in twenty thousand shares of one
pound each. - The amount already (nominally) paid up is
seventeen thousand five hundred pounds, being
seventeen shillings and sixpence per share allotted to
original shareholders of the Company, as the
estimated value of the property. - The name of the manager is Martin Sholl.
- The office of the Company is in Queen Street,
Auckland. - The names and several residences of the share-
holders, and the number of shares held by each at
