ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of July, 1869.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council, bearing date
the seventh day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-nine, His Excellency the Governor
made certain Regulations for the letting, occupation,
and disposal of such of the Waste Lands of the
Crown in the settlement constituted under "The
Bay of Islands Settlement Act, 1858," as contain
coal: And whereas it is expedient to alter the said
Regulations in manner herein appearing:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
exercise and pursuance of all powers and authorities
enabling him in this behalf, and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand,
doth hereby revoke the third subdivision of the
third of the Regulations contained in the Schedule
to the said Order in Council, and doth hereby make
and prescribe the following Regulation in lieu thereof,
that is to say:β
In every lease of lands containing coal granted
under the said Act, the proviso for renewal (if any)
shall contain a clause or clauses, to be framed to the
satisfaction of the Governor, for fixing, either by
reference to arbitration or in any other manner, the
rent and royalties to be reserved in the lease for the
new term, whether such new rent and royalties be
greater or less than those reserved in the original
lease.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Petty Sessions Act, 1865,"
it is enacted that the Governor, from time to
time, by Order in Council, whereof notice shall be
published in the New Zealand Gazette, may constitute
and define districts within and for which Courts of
Petty Sessions shall be held, and such districts or
any of them may from time to time, in manner
aforesaid, abolish, and the boundaries thereof may
define and alter: And whereas by an Order in
Council bearing date the twenty-second day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, the
Waipaoa District was constituted and defined under
the said Act, and it is expedient to alter the bound-
aries of the said district:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
in him vested for this purpose, doth hereby, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony, abolish the District of Waipaoa so defined
as aforesaid, and doth hereby constitute and define
the district following to be a district within and for
which Courts of Petty Sessions shall be held for the
purposes of the said Act; that is to sayβ
PROVINCE OF HAWKE'S BAY.
Waipaoa District.
Commencingat Mount Park, on the Ruahine Range,
follows a line nearly due East to the west point of
the Kereru Bush, skirting the southern boundary of
the said bush to the boundary of Messrs. Smith and
Carlyon's runs; by the said boundary to the source of
the Manga-o-nuku Stream; following the Manga-o-
nuku down stream till it intersects the road leading
from Maraekakaho to Hampden; thence in an
easterly direction to the northern point of the Rau-
kawa Bush; thence due East to the Tuki Tuki
River, near Ngawhakatatara; across that river, and
by a line due East to the ocean at Waimarama;
thence by the sea shore southerly to the Waimate;
thence by the southern and western boundaries of
the Province of Hawke's Bay to the starting point
at Mount Park.
