To the LEGISLATIVE COUNCILLORS of the Colony of NEW ZEALAND, and
the MEMBERS elected to serve in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
of the said Colony, summoned and called to a Meeting of the
General Assembly of the said Colony, at the City of Wellington,
on the Sixth day of the month of May, to have been commenced
and held, and to every of you—GREETING :

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Meeting of the General Assembly stands prorogued to the Sixth
day of May, nevertheless for certain causes and considerations I have thought
fit further to prorogue the same to TUESDAY, the FIRST day of the month of JUNE
next, so that neither of you on the said Sixth day of May, at the City of Wellington,
are constrained to appear : Commanding and by the tenor of these presents enjoining
you and each of you, and all others in this behalf interested, that on TUESDAY, the
FIRST day of the month of JUNE next, at the City of Wellington aforesaid, personally
you be and appear for the DESPATCH OF BUSINESS, there to take into consideration
the state and welfare of the said Colony of New Zealand, and therein to do as
may seem necessary.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir GEORGE FERGUSON
BOWEN, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of
New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same, at the Government House, at Wellington; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony, this tenth
day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-nine.
