VICTORIA, by the grace of God, of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,
Queen, Defender of the Faith, and so forth:

To Our trusty and loving subjects,
THEOPHILUS HEALE, Esquire, and
WILLIAM GISBORNE, Esquire, Under Secretary,
Greeting:

WHEREAS on the third day of February instant,
Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Our Colony of New
Zealand, did issue in Council a Commission in Our
Name, appointing certain persons named therein to
inquire into and report upon the condition and
nature of Educational and other Trust Estates held
directly under Grant from the Crown upon special
Trust for Religious, Educational, or Charitable pur-
poses, and particularly to inquire into the extent and
application of the Endowments, Funds, and Revenues
belonging to or received by the Trustees of all such
Estates in respect of the same :

And whereas it is desirable to appoint additional
persons to the aforesaid Commission :

Now know ye, that We, reposing great trust and
confidence in your knowledge and ability, have
authorized and appointed, and by these presents do
authorize and appoint you,

THEOPHILUS HEALE, and
WILLIAM GISBORNE,

to be additional Commissioners for the purposes
and with the powers specified in the said Commis-
sion, which Commission continues in full force and
virtue anything herein notwithstanding.

In testimony whereof We have caused these Our
Letters to be made Patent, and the Seal of Our
said Colony to be hereunto affixed.

Witness Our trusty and well-beloved Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George, Our
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Our Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, and issued at Wellington, in
New Zealand aforesaid, on the twenty-
sixth day of February, in the year of Our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-nine, and in the thirty-second year
of Our reign.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING :

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly,
intituled "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor, by warrant under his hand, from time
to time to appoint polling places for each Electoral
District, within or without the limits thereof, and to
appoint any one of such places to be the principal
polling place for the district, and all or any of such
polling places at any time to abolish, and to appoint
other polling places in lieu thereof: And whereas
by another Act of the General Assembly, intituled
"The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted
that, subject to certain provisions therein contained,
every election of the Superintendent or of a Member
of the Provincial Council of a Province shall be con-
ducted in the manner prescribed by "The Regulation
of Elections Act, 1858,"

ERRATUM. In Gazette No. 6, of the 13th February, 1869, in the Schedule of the boundaries of the Puretao Block, for
"eighty acres" read "eighty-eight acres."
