TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:

WHEREAS by "The County of Westland Act,
1868," it is enacted that the Governor shall,
within fifteen days after the commencement of
the said Act, appoint a sufficient number of polling
places for each Road District in the said Act men-
tioned:

Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the
Governor of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the
following polling places for the Road Districts in the
said Act mentioned, that is to say—

For the Paroa District—Hamilton Store, Pile
Creek, New River (principal polling
place).
Webb's Store, Greenstone.
Fox's Store, Arnold.
Barnhill's Store, Paroa.
For the Arahura District—Road Board Office,
Stafford (principal polling place).
Polling Booth, Goldsborough.
McLean's Post Office Store, Chesterfield.
Merritt's Store, Fox's.
Johnston's Store, Fourth Terrace.
For the Kanieri District—Police Buildings, Kanieri
(principal polling place).
Small's Store, Woodstock.
Grinnell's Store, Blue Spur.
Macintosh's Store, Big Paddock.
Tramway Terminus Shed, Arahura.
For the Totara District—Road Board Office, Ross
(principal polling place).
Alexandra Company's Office, Donoghue's.
Polling Booth, Mikonui.
For the Okarita District—Road Board Office,
Okarita (principal polling place).
Blanchard's House, Five Mile Beach.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, this fourteenth day
of November, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
eight.

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, by Warrant under his
hand, from time to time to appoint polling places
for each Electoral District, within or without the
limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such places
to be the principal polling place for the district,
and all or any of such polling places at any time to
abolish, and to appoint other polling places in lieu
thereof: And whereas by Warrant under the hand
of the Governor, the Court House, Clyde, was
appointed principal polling place for the District of
Gold Fields, for the election of Superintendent and
Members of the Provincial Council of the Province
of Otago: And whereas it is expedient to abolish
the same:

Now know ye that I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the
power and authority in me vested by the said Act,
do hereby abolish the above-named principal polling
place for the District of Gold Fields, for the election
of Superintendent and Members of the Provincial
Council of the Province of Otago, and do appoint in
lieu thereof
