ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the
eleventh day of November, 1868.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Marine Act, 1867," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Order in
Council, from time to time delegate all or any of
the powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act unto any person or persons, for any period, and
subject to any regulations, restrictions, or stipula-
tions which may be specified in such Order, and
every such delegation may from time to time alter or
revoke:

Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the
Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the Colony, do by this Order
delegate unto

JAMES ALEXANDER BONAR, Esq.,
Chairman of the Council of the County of Westland,
such of the powers vested in me as Governor by
section seven of the said Act as enable me to erect,
superintend, and maintain harbour marks, buoys,
lights, and beacons, within the limits of the Ports of
Okarita, Hokitika, and Greymouth, or the approaches
thereto, in the County of Westland, so long as he
shall continue to hold the office of Chairman of the
Council thereof, subject however to such directions
as may from time to time be issued by the Colonial
Marine Engineer as to the size, position, and colour
of such harbour marks, buoys, lights, and beacons;
and do also delegate to James Alexander Bonar, Esq.,
the powers vested in me by sections twelve, thirteen,
seventeen, and forty-two of the said Act, to have and
exercise the said powers hereby delegated so long
only as he shall continue to hold the office of Chair-
man of the Council of the County of Westland, and
no longer.

By virtue and in pursuance of the power and
authority vested in me by "The County of
Westland Act, 1868," and of every power and authority
in this behalf enabling me, I, Sir George Ferguson
Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint the following polling places for the electoral
districts respectively hereinafter named, being the
districts described in the Fourth Schedule to the said
Act; that is to say-

Hokitika District-Warden's Court, Hokitika.
Greymouth District-Warden's Court, Greymouth.
Paroa District-Warden's Court, Rutherglen (prin-
cipal polling place).
Police Camp, Arnold.
Police Camp, Greenstone.
Police Camp, Pile Creek, New River.
Arahura District-Warden's Court, Stafford (prin-
cipal polling place).
Warden's Court, Waimea.
Police Buildings, Chesterfield.
Kettle's Store, Teremakau.
MacMillan's Store, Fox's.
Drummond and Stewart's Store, 4th Terrace.
Kanieri District-Warden's Court, Kanieri (prin-
cipal polling place).
Ruddy's Store, Terminus Junction, Big Pad-
dock.
Castle's Store, Blue Spur.
Mitchell's Store, Woodstock.
Totara District-Warden's Court, Ross (principal
polling place).
Pringle's Store, Donoghue's.
McLeod's Store, Mikonui.
Okarita District-Warden's Court, Okarita (prin-
cipal polling place).
Mace and Canavan's Store, Five-Mile Beach.
