Council, may from time to time delegate all or any
of the powers by the said Act conferred to any person
for any period, and subject to such stipulations as
may be specified in such Order :
And whereas "The Public Domains Act Amend
ment Act, 1865," amends the said first-mentioned
Act in certain respects, but does not repeal such
power of delegation:
And whereas "The Public Domains Acts Extension
Act, 1868," brings certain lands described in two
Schedules thereto within the operation of "The
Public Domains Act, 1860," as amended by "The
Public Domains Act Amendment Act, 1865," and
declares that they shall be managed, administered,
and dealt with by the Governor as directed by the
said Acts, in the same manner to all intents and
purposes as if the said parcels of land had been
included and specified in the Schedule to "The
Public Domains Act, 1860," and therein declared to
be Crown Lands, subject to the provisions thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth by this present Order delegate, in
respect of the land described in the second Schedule
to "The Public Domains Acts Extension Act, 1868,"
and known as the Botanical Garden Reserve in the
City of Wellington, to
JAMES HECTOR, Esq., M.D.,.
Manager of Geological Survey, all the powers
conferred on the Governor by the said Acts.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of October, 1868.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
W HEREAS by "The Waste Lands Act, 1858," it
is provided that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, at any time and from time
to time, to except from sale and reserve to Her
Majesty, or dispose of in such manner as for the
public interest may seem best, such of the Waste
Lands of the Crown in any of the Provinces of New
Zealand as may be required for the purposes of
military defence, or for the construction of trunk
lines of road, or as sites for public buildings for the
use of the General Government, or for other purposes
of public utility or convenience:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
New Zealand, doth hereby except from sale and
reserve to the use of Her Majesty as sites for public
buildings or other purposes of the General Govern-
ment, the allotments or parcels of land described in
the Schedule hereunder written.
And His Excellency the Governor doth hereby
notify to the Superintendents of the Provinces of
Auckland and Otago respectively, that the lands
defined in the Schedule hereto have been reserved
in terms of the Act before cited.
SCHEDULE.
PROVINCE OF AUCKLAND.
All that piece or parcel of land lying between high
and low water mark on the eastern shore of the Frith
of the Thames, from the mouth of the Tararu River
to the mouth of the Kauaeranga River.
PROVINCE OF OTAGO.
Waikaia District.
All that parcel of land at Switzer's Diggings, known
as the Court House and Police Camp Reserve, and
THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
being bounded towards the East by a line 183° 3′
one thousand two hundred and sixty-two (1262)
links; towards the South by lines 223° 13' seventy-
five (75) links, 305° 39′ 30″ one hundred and eighty-
three (183) links, 318° 57' one hundred and fifty-seven
(157) links, 250° 52′ two hundred and ninety-five
(295) links; towards the West by a line 356° 23′ 50″
six hundred and thirty-five (635) links; and towards
the North-west by a line 51° 29' eight hundred and
eighty-four (884) links.
Town of Cromwell.
All that parcel of land, being sections numbers six
(6), thirty-seven (37), and thirty-eight (38), Block
III., bounded towards the North-east by section
number thirty-six (36), two hundred (200) links;
towards the South-east by Sligo Street two hundred
(200) links, and by section number five (5) one hun-
dred (100) links; towards the South-west by section
number five (5) one hundred and sixty-six and
sixty-six-hundredths (166-66) links, and by Melmore
Terrace thirty-three and thirty-four-hundredths)
(33-34) links; and towards the North-west by a line
three hundred (300) links.
Town of Frankton.
All that parcel of land, being Block X., excepting
sections numbers ten (10), twelve (12), seventeen
(17), and twenty (20).
Town of Balclutha (North Side).
All that parcel of land, being sections four (4),
five (5), and fifteen (15), Block III.
Town of Balclutha (North Side).
All that parcel of land, being sections numbers five
(5), six (6), and seven (7), Block V., bounded towards
the North-east by sections numbers sixteen (16),
fifteen (15), and fourteen (14) three hundred (300)
links; towards the South-east by section number
eight (8) two hundred and fifty (250) links; towards
the South-west by Lowestoft Street three hundred
(300) links; and towards the North-west by section
number four (4) two hundred and fifty (250) links.
Town of Balclutha (North Side).
All that parcel of land, being sections numbers one
(1), two (2), and twenty-one (21), Block IV., bounded
towards the North-east by sections numbers twenty
(20), and eighteen (18) three hundred (300) links;
towards the South-east by section number three (3)
two hundred and fifty (250) links; towards the
South-west by Stanford Street three hundred (300)
links; and towards the North-west by Pakefield
Street two hundred and fifty (250) links.
Town of Balclutha (South Side).
All that parcel of land, being section number four-
teen (14), Block VIII., bounded towards the North-
east by section number thirteen (13) two hundred
and fifty (250) links; towards the South-east by
section number five (5) one hundred (100) links;
towards the South-west by section number fifteen
(15) two hundred and fifty (250) links; and towards
the North-west by Lanark Street one hundred (100)
links.
