In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867."
By virtue of the powers conferred on me by "The
Bankruptcy Act, 1867," I do hereby order that the
Taranaki Herald and the Taranaki News newspapers
shall be the papers in and for the Province of
Taranaki in which are to be published all Notices
required by the said Act to be published in the
Gazette.

Saturday, the eighteenth day of January, one
thousand six hundred and sixty-eight.

for general information.

BUOY IN SANDSPIT PASSAGE, PONUI.
NOTICE is hereby given that a CAN BUOY (RED) has
been placed on the end of the Spit running out N.E.
from the Island of Pakiki towards the Island of
Ponui. The buoy is moored in twelve (12) feet of
water at low water spring tides on the following
compass bearings :-

Northern extreme of Ponui, E. N.;
High peak of Pakiki, S.W. W.
The channel between the buoy and Ponui is a
cable's length in width, and has a depth of three to
three and a-half fathoms at low water.

LIGHT AT JACOB'S RIVER, FOVEAUX STRAIT.
NOTICE TO BOATMEN FREQUENTING THE PORT OF
RIVERTON.

ON and after the first day of March next, a RED
LIGHT will be shown on the South Head, near the
Flagstaff, from sunset till sunrise.
This light will show the position of the South
Head, but it is not intended as a guide for clearing
the sandspit lying off it.

been duly licensed to act as Custom House
Agents at this Port for the year ending the 31st
December, 1868:-

pursuance of the powers vested in them by "The
Medical Practitioners Act, 1867," have this day
appointed

NEW ZEALAND STATUTES, 1867. — Parties
desirous of purchasing the volume of New
Zealand Statutes for 1867 are informed that copies
can be had on application to the Government Printer,
at the following prices :-

Bound copies ... Thirty Shillings.
Loose copies ... Sixpence per sheet.
All orders for the same must be accompanied by a
remittance; and when ten or more copies are
purchased, twenty per cent. discount will be allowed.
No payments above five shillings to be made in
stamps.

Applications for subscription to the Gazette should be
addressed and pre-payment made, to the Government Printer,
Wellington.

ADVERTISING.

For every four words after the first fifty 0 0 2
Headings, date lines, signatures, &c., re-
quiring to be printed in separate lines, to
be charged at, per line 0 0 4
Intestate Estate Balance Sheets ... 0 7 6

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper,
and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.

All applications for the insertion of private advertisements in
the New Zealand Gazette should be addressed to the Govern-
ment Printer, Wellington, and at the same time, pre-payment
(by money order when necessary) at the above rates must be
made to him. No advertisement will be inserted in the Gazette
unless the whole amount due on account of the same is pre-
paid.

All sums so received by the Printer will be duly acknowledged
through the medium of the Gazette.
