A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Petty Sessions Act, 1865,"
it is enacted that as soon as conveniently may
be after the establishment of a Petty Sessions
District, and afterwards from time to time as may be
deemed expedient, the Governor shall, by Procla-
mation in the New Zealand Gazette, appoint a meet-
ing of the Justices of the Peace resident in such
district to be yearly held within such district, at some
specified time and place, for the purpose of choosing
a Chairman of Petty Sessions and settling a rota of
attendance: And whereas by an Order in Council
bearing date the twenty-second day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, His Excel-
lency the Governor, in pursuance and in exercise of
the power in that behalf vested in him, with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, did define
and establish certain Petty Sessions Districts, includ-
ing amongst other districts the Waipaoa District and
the Ngaruroro District, in the Province of Hawke's
Bay:
Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the
Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance and in
exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in me,
do hereby proclaim Thursday, the fifteenth day of
October instant, to be the day on which, and
the Resident Magistrate's Court House at Waipaoa
to be the place at which, shall be held the yearly
meeting for the Waipaoa District for the year one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight; and the third
Thursday in the month of October in every succeed-
ing year to be the day on which, and the Resident
Magistrate's Court House at Waipaoa aforesaid to
be the place at which, shall thereafter be held the
yearly meetings for the District of Waipaoa aforesaid,
for the purpose of choosing a Chairman of Petty
Sessions, and settling a rota of attendance. And I
do further proclaim Wednesday, the fourteenth day
of October instant, to be the day on which, and
McHardy's Hotel, at Havelock, Ngaruroro, to be
the place at which, shall be held the yearly meeting
for the Ngaruroro District for the year one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-eight; and the second Wed-
nesday in the month of October in every succeeding
year to be the day on which, and McHardy's Hotel
aforesaid to be the place at which, shall thereafter be
held the yearly meetings for the Ngaruroro District,
for the purpose of choosing a Chairman of Petty
Sessions, and settling a rota of attendance.

George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, at the Government
House, at Wellington; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, this tenth
day of October, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
eight.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING :
WHEREAS by a Governor's Order, dated the first
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-eight, the Port of Havelock, in the Province of
Marlborough, was declared to be no longer a Port for
the purposes of "The Customs Regulation 1858 :"
And whereas it has become expedient to annul the
said Order, and to re-appoint the Port of Havelock to
be a Port for the purposes of the above-mentioned
Act:
