A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS on the eighth day of February, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, the
parcel of land described in the Schedule hereunder
written was, by the Superintendent of the Province
of Canterbury, upon the recommendation of the
Provincial Council of the said Province, reserved for
the uses of the Provincial Government, and particu-
larly for schoolmasters' residence: And whereas by
"The County of Westland Act, 1867," it is enacted
that all estate and interest of the Superintendent of
the said Province in any public reserves or lands
within the said County shall, upon the coming into
operation of the said Act, forthwith vest in the
Governor, who shall have, with respect to such
reserves, all the powers conferred upon the Superin-
tendent and Provincial Council by grant under "The
Public Reserves Act, 1854": And whereas it is
desirable that the parcel of land described in the
Schedule hereunder written should be sold:
Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the
Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power
and authority in me vested by the said Act, do
hereby proclaim that the parcel of land described in
the Schedule hereunder written shall be sold, and
that the time and place and conditions of the said
sale shall be fixed by the Waste Lands Board of the
said County of Westland, and shall be published in
the County of Westland Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land situate in the town of
Hokitika, being Reserve number five hundred and
thirty-two (532), bounded towards the North-east by
sections numbers six hundred and seventy-two (672),
and six hundred and seventy-one (671), four hundred
and ninety-eight (498) links; towards the South-east
by Rolleston Street, ninety-seven (97) links; towards
the South-west by sections numbers 954, 953, 952,
951, 950, 949, 948, 947, 946, and 945, four hundred
and ninety-eight (498) links; and towards the North-
west by Sale Street, ninety-seven (97) links.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and
its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same; and issued under the Seal of
the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this fifth day
of September, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
eight.

of Canterbury, upon the recommendation of the
Provincial Council of the said Province, reserved for
the uses of the Provincial Government: And

it is enacted that all estate and interest of the Super-
