WELLINGTON, THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 1868.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is expedient to bring into operation
within the County of Westland the Ordinance
for establishing Standard Weights and Measures, and
for the prevention of the use of such as are false and
deficient (Session VII., No. 10):

Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor
of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and
authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby
proclaim and appoint that from this day, the opera-
tion of the said Ordinance shall extend to the County
of Westland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of
the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
Wellington, this twentieth day of January,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-eight.
