the September Quarter are necessarily based on the transactions of July and August only.
(a.) The amounts in this column are those payable under "The Public Revenues Act, 1867." They do not coincide with the actual payments to the Provinces, which were made on the basis of 5ths of the
Customs Revenue, the Public Revenues Act not having been passed till October.
