I, the undersigned, JOHN HENRY SMITH, hereby
make application to register "The Hape Gold
Mining Company, Registered," under the provisions
of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act,
1865," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that
the following statement is, to the best of my belief
and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:–
- The name and style of the Company is
"The Hape Gold Mining Company, Registered." - The place of operations is at the Hape Creek,
Thames Gold Field. - The nominal capital of the Company is Two
thousand one hundred pounds, in two hundred and
ten shares of ten pounds each. - The amount already paid up is One thousand
four hundred pounds. - The name of the manager is John Henry Smith.
- The office of the Company is in Lower Queen
Street, Auckland. - The names and several residences of the share-
holders, and the number of shares held by each at

NOTICE. The undersigned having applied for
letters patent in New Zealand for a new method
or process of Amalgamating Gold and other precious
metals, any person who may wish to prefer any
objection to the granting of such letters patent is
required to send within four months from the date
of this notice, to the office of John Boyle Bennett,
Esq., at Wellington, a statement in writing setting
forth the grounds of such objection, subscribed with
his proper name and address.

NOTICE is hereby given that I, EDWIN WILLIAM
TRENT, of Market Place, in the City of
Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury and
Colony of New Zealand, proprietor of Steam Coffee
Works, intend, after the expiration of four calendar
months from the publication hereof in the New
Zealand Government Gazette, and one newspaper
published in the principal town of each Province of
the Colony, to apply to His Excellency Sir George
Ferguson Bowen, Knight, the Governor of the said
Colony of New Zealand, that he will be pleased to
grant to me Letters Patent for the exclusive use of
an invention by me of a machine, to be applied to
the purpose of cleaning New Zealand Flax, or
Phormium Tenax, and all other fibrous plants indi-
gendous to New Zealand, by separating the vegetable
gum from the fibre thereof, and rendering the same
fit for manufacture into rope, and all purposes for
which hemp is ordinarily used; and I hereby require
any person who may wish to prefer any objection to
the granting of such Letters Patent, to send within
four months from the publication hereof, as aforesaid,
to the Office of the Colonial Secretary, for the said
Colony of New Zealand, a statement setting forth
the grounds of objection, and subscribed with their
proper name and address.
