NOTICE
TO HOLDERS OF DEBENTURES OF THE PROVINCIAL
GOVERNMENT OF WELLINGTON.

Wellington, 5th June, 1868.

WHEREAS, an Act of the Superintendent and
Provincial Council of the Province of Wel-
lington, Session I, No. 6, was passed, intituled
"An Act to authorize the Superintendent to
raise a Loan for carrying on certain Public Works
of the Province, and for other purposes;" And
Whereas under and by virtue of the authority
of the said Act, the sum of £50,000 was raised
for the purposes in the said Act mentioned; And
Whereas it is expedient that notice should be
given in accordance with the sixth section of the said
Act, that the debentures for the said loan of £50,000
should be paid off:

Now therefore I, John Hall, acting for the Colonial
Treasurer of New Zealand, do hereby, on behalf of
the Government of New Zealand, and I, Isaac Earl
Featherston, Superintendent of the said Province,
do hereby, on behalf of the Government of the
said Province, give notice that all debentures issued
under the said Act shall become payable at the
Colonial Treasury, Wellington, New Zealand, on the
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-nine.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint

JAMES ALEXANDER, Esq.,

to be Registrar of Marriages, and of Births, Deaths,
and Marriages, for the District of Picton, as the
same is defined in the proclamation of the first day of
February, 1866, vice George Lilly Mellish, resigned.
This appointment to take effect on and from the
13th June, 1868.

Richmond has reported that he has appointed

HANSON TURTON, Esq.,

to be Revising Officer for the Electoral Districts of
Picton and Wairau, in the room of Charles Henry
Moffitt, Esq., deceased.

Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies,
Auckland, 18th May, 1868.

JOHN MUIR WAYLAND, Registrar of Joint
Stock Companies for the Provinces of Auckland
and Hawke's Bay, in the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby notify that I have registered a Memorandum
of Association, with Articles of Association annexed,
establishing a Company, with limited liability of the
shareholders therein, intituled—

"THE BAY OF ISLANDS COAL COMPANY
(LIMITED);"

the objects of which are "the searching for, raising,
and converting into saleable products, coal, and
other minerals that may be found in the district of
the Bay of Islands, in the Colony of New Zealand,
and conveying to markets and selling such coal,
minerals, and products, with power for the said
Company, in furtherance of the above objects, to pur-
chase or otherwise acquire, from the Government or
individuals, any land, leases, interest in land and
mines, situate in the said district; to accede to any
conditions that may be imposed in respect of such
lands, leases, interest, and mines, and to make any
payments that may be necessary in order to acquire
the same, and any plant, machinery, and other things
used in connection therewith; and to make and con-
struct canals, wharves, railways, tramways, roads,
and other works, and improve the navigation of
rivers and creeks, for the purpose of facilitating the
transport and delivery of coal and minerals and the
products thereof; and generally to do all such things
as are directly or indirectly incidental to any such
undertaking as aforesaid."

And that in pursuance of the provisions of "The
Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company,
bearing date this eighteenth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
