✨ Proclamation and Government Tenders
THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 117
Now, therefore I, William Henry Eyes, Esquire, by
virtue of the powers delegated to and vested in me in
this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that on and
after the tenth day of March, all that district of the
Province of Marlborough lying between the Clarence
River, the Conway River, the seaward Kaikoura
Range and the sea, shall be deemed to be an infected
district under "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," and
I further proclaim and declare that any person
removing cattle out of the said district as herein
defined, shall be liable to the penalties as fixed in
the twelfth clause of the said Act.
Given under my hand, and the Public Seal of
the Province, at Blenheim, this nine-
teenth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-eight.
W. H. EYES,
Superintendent.
By His Honor's command,
JAMES BALFOUR WEMYSS,
Provincial Secretary.
Approved-G. F. BOWEN,
5th March, 1868.
Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 9th March, 1868.
TENDERS will be received at this Office until the
first of May 1868, from persons willing to
supply the New Zealand Government with Stationery,
to be delivered free of expense in this Colony, at
such Port as the Government may indicate, for the
twelvemonths commencing on the first June, 1868.
-
The value of all necessary packages, whether
bulk be broken or not, must be included in the prices
demanded, and the net weight or quantity only will
be paid for. -
A bond for the sum of £1000, the contractor in
the sum of £500 and two approved sureties £500
each, for the due performance of the contract, will be
required to be entered into within a month of the
acceptance of the contract. -
The tenderers will be required to forward
samples of the articles marked with an asterisk. -
The supplies are to be according to sample and
of the particular manufacture indicated in the
Schedule. -
In the case of different makers' goods the con-
tractors will be required to supply the kind ordered. -
Orders must receive prompt execution.
-
The contractor will be required to furnish his
account in the prescribed form simultaneously with
delivery of the full quantity of goods ordered, the
account being rendered with the order to which it
relates. -
The acceptance of the supplies will be subject
to the approval of the officers in the various Pro-
vinces appointed by the Government. The con-
tractor may, however, claim a survey on any goods
objected to, but in that case he must without delay
give notice thereof in writing to the officer rejecting
the goods. -
Delivery will not be deemed to have been made
until the goods have been approved of. All articles
rejected must be immediately replaced by the con-
tractor, otherwise purchases will be effected at the
contractor's risk, and the extra expense incurred over
and above the contract price (if any) will be deducted
from the contractor's account. -
It will be competent either for the contractor
on his own behalf, or for the Honorable the Colonial
Secretary on behalf of the Government, to terminate
the contract by giving notice in writing of three
months to the opposite party; it being understood
that such notice can be given only from the first day
of a month and within the period for which the con-
tract is made. -
In the event of any alteration in the Tariff
affecting any of the items included in the contract,
the Government or the contractor, as may be the
case, will make a proportional allowance, by way of
deduction from or increase of the price of the item
so affected.
W. GISBORNE,
Under Secretary.
