shall be adjudged to have passed, and to be entitled to
be appointed to the Civil Service of India.
12. The seniority in the Civil Service of India of
the selected candidates shall be determined according
to the order in which they stand on the list resulting
from the Final Examination.
13. No person will, even after passing the Final
Examination, be allowed to proceed to India unless
he shall comply with the regulations in force, at the
time, for the Civil Service of India, and shall be of
sound bodily health and good moral character.—The
Civil Service Commissioners will require such further
evidence on these points as they may deem necessary
before granting their Certificate of Qualification.
14. Applications from persons desirous to be
admitted as candidates are to be addressed to the
Secretary to the Civil Service Commissioners, Dean's
Yard, London, S.W.
15th June, 1866.

NOTE—(1.) The Secretary of State for India in Council has
authorized the Civil Service Commissioners to state that it
is his intention to allow the sum of £100 for the first year of
probation, and £200 for the second year to each selected
candidate who shall have passed the required examinations to
the satisfaction of the Commissioners, and shall have complied
with such rules as may be laid down for the guidance of
selected candidates.

(2). All selected candidates will be required, after having
passed the second periodical examination, to attend at the
India Office, to make the necessary arrangements for entering
into covenants (binding themselves, amongst other things, to
refund in certain cases the amount of their allowance in the
event of their failing to proceed to India,) and for giving a bond
for £1000, jointly with two sureties, for the due fulfilment of
the same. The stamps payable by civilians on their appoint-
ment amount to £3 10s.

(3). Candidates rejected at the Final Examination of 1869,
will in no case be allowed to present themselves for re-
examination.

ABRAHAM BOARDMAN, Esq.,
of Auckland, in the Province of Auckland, to be
Curator of Intestate Estates within the "Auckland
District." The appointment to date from the twenty-
first January last.

Southland District.

In the matter of the petition of Robert Dunlop, of
Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, storekeeper,
a debtor; and in the matter of the petition of
Thomas Thomson, of Green Island, in the Pro-
vince of Otago aforesaid, farmer; and William
Kernahan, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago
aforesaid, storeman, creditors of the said Robert
Dunlop to the extent of not less than fifty
pounds; and in the matter of the Debtors and
Creditors Acts 1862 and 1865."

UPON reading the petition of the abovenamed
bankrupt, and the several paper writings thereto
annexed, and upon hearing Mr. Bryan Cecil Haggitt,
of counsel for the said bankrupt, it is ordered that
William Oram Ball, of Dunedin, in the Province
of Otago aforesaid, accountant, and Robert Smith
Dods, of Dunedin aforesaid, merchant, be and they
are hereby appointed trustees of the estate and effects
of the bankrupt. And it is further ordered, that all
real and personal estate of the bankrupt, which shall
vest in the said William Oram Ball and Robert Smith
Dods by virtue of their said appointment, shall be
held by them, their heirs, executors, and adminis-
trators respectively (except the wearing apparel of
the bankrupt, which shall be retained by him), upon
and for the following trusts and purposes, namely—

  1. To sell, collect and get in such real and personal
    estate and receive the moneys arising therefrom, and
    to execute all necessary conveyances and assurances
    thereof.

  2. To retain and pay all expenses properly incurred
    of and attending such sale, collection and getting in.

  3. To pay the poundage and fees payable under
    the above-mentioned Acts.

  4. To pay the costs properly incurred of and
    incidental to the petition in these matters, and
    subsequent thereto, and also all costs and expenses in
    these matters which have been or shall be ordered by
    this Court, or by any Judge thereof, to be paid out
    of the estate of the bankrupt.

  5. To distribute the net residue of the said trust
    moneys between and amongst and for the benefit
    of all the creditors of the bankrupt who were his
    creditors at the time of the presentation of the said
    petition, and who shall duly prove their debts by
    affidavit filed in the office of the Registrar of the
    Supreme Court at Dunedin aforesaid, within three
    calendar months from the date of this order, by way
    of pro rata distribution and administration, subject
    to existing legal priorities (if any such there shall
    be), but so that the said creditors shall not receive
    more than twenty shillings in the pound upon their
    said respective debts.

  6. To pay the ultimate surplus (if any) of the said
    trust moneys to the bankrupt.

Dated this seventeenth day of December, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
