Now know ye that I, Sir George Grey, reposing special trust and confidence in
your knowledge and ability, have thought fit to constitute and appoint, and by these
presents do constitute and appoint youβ€”

JOHN LARKINS CHEESE RICHARDSON,
JOHN HYDE HARRIS,
THOMAS HOUGHTON BARTLEY,
JOHN JOHNSTON,
PONSONBY PEACOCKE,
Sir DAVID MONRO,
ALEXANDER JAMES JOHNSTON,
ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON,
JOHN WILLIAMSON,
HUGH CARLETON,
ALFRED LUDLAM,
JAMES EDWARD FITZGERALD,

to be Reception Commissioners to devise and carry into effect all necessary arrange-
ments for a fitting reception of His Royal Highness THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH,
and for paying suitable marks of respect to His Royal Highness during his visit to
the said Colony.

And I do by these presents give and grant to you, or any three of you, full
power and authority to carry into effect the purposes of this Commission by all
lawful ways and means whatever. And I do call on all Public Officers to aid and
assist you in the execution thereof: And I do by these presents ordain that
this Commission shall continue in full force and virtue, and that you the said
Commissioners, or any three of you, shall, and may from time to time, and at any
place or places, proceed in the execution thereof, and of every matter and thing
therein contained, although the same be not continued from time to time by
adjournment.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight
Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of
New Zealand and its Dependencies, at the Government House,
at Wellington, and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, this
twenty-seventh day of November, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
