THE following letter, with enclosure, from the
Agent of the General Government at Auckland,
is published for general information.

SIR, — I have the honor to forward enclosed
herewith, for the information of the Government,
a copy of the Auckland Provincial Government
Gazette, No. 38, dated 18th December, 1866, con-
taining a notification of the sale by public auction of
certain of the confiscated lands in Waikato, on the
21st instant.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me
in that behalf, I, Frederick Whitaker, do hereby
notify for public information, that all those pieces or
parcels of land enumerated in the Schedule here-
under written, will be offered for sale by public
auction, at the Waste Lands Office, at Auckland, on
Monday, the 21st day of January, 1867, at twelve
o'clock noon, as Town, Suburban, and Special Rural
Lands.

TERMS:—One-fourth cash at the time of sale, by
way of deposit, and remaining three-fourths within
three calendar months after the sale. In the event
of the second payment not being made as aforesaid,
the sale shall be void and the deposit forfeited.
