ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the
tenth day of January, 1867.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Gold Fields
Act, 1866," it is provided that it shall be lawful for
the Governor in Council, under his hand and the
Public Seal of the Colony, from time to time to
delegate to the Superintendent of any Province, or to
such other person as the Governor may deem fit, all
or any of the powers vested in the Governor or the
Governor in Council by the said Act, except the
powers conferred by sections twenty-two, forty,
forty-eight, sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and
seven thereof, subject or not to any limitations or
restrictions as he may think fit, and in like manner
to alter or revoke any such powers.

And whereas it is further provided that whenever
the Governor shall have delegated to the Superin-
tendent of any Province all or any of the aforesaid
powers, it shall be lawful for the Governor, by Order
in Council, to appoint and declare that all costs,
charges, and expenses, incident to the management
and administration of the Gold Fields within such
Province shall be regulated by Acts or Ordinances to
be passed by the Superintendent and Provincial
Council of such Province.

And whereas by instruments in writing, bearing
date the twelfth day of October, 1866, issued under
the Seal of the Colony, the Governor, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony, and in exercise of the before-recited power,
hath delegated to the various Superintendents of the
Provinces in the said Colony all the aforesaid powers,
excepting those before recited to be excepted, to hold
and exercise the said powers within the Provinces
aforesaid:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
for this purpose by the said Act conferred, doth
hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, appoint and declare that all
the costs, charges, and expenses, incident to the
management and administration of the Gold Fields,
within the aforesaid Provinces, shall be regulated by
Acts to be passed by the Superintendents and
Provincial Councils thereof.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the
tenth day of January, 1867.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise of the powers vested in the Governor
by "The Native Reserves Act, 1856," and "The
Native Reserves Amendment Act, 1862," the
Governor, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the Colony, doth order that
the land hereinafter described, that is to say: All
that parcel of land, being the section marked E. on
the plan of the Waiwakaiho District, in the Province
of Taranaki, bounded towards the North by section
marked E., towards the East by a Native Reserve
marked C., towards the South by section marked EI.,
and towards the West by the River Waiwakaiho,
being land subject to the operation of the said Act,
shall be sold, and the same is hereby sold to John

Whitely, of New Plymouth, Wesleyan Missionary
and Charles Edward Rawson, of New Plymouth,
Settler, for the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds
sterling (£150).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the
tenth day of January, 1867.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The New Zealand
Native Reserves Act, 1856," certain powers therein
specified are vested in the Commissioners under
the said Act: And whereas by another Act of
the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled
"The Native Reserves Amendment Act, 1862," all
the powers and authorities which by "The New
Zealand Native Reserves Act, 1856," are given to or
vested in or which may be exercised by Commis-
sioners appointed or to be appointed under that Act,
shall vest in and may be exercised by the Governor.
And it is by the said Act further enacted that the
Governor may by Order in Council from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers competent to the
Commissioners under the said Act unto any person
or persons, for any period, and subject to any
regulations or stipulations as may be specified in such
Order:

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Grey,
in exercise of the power and authority so vested in
him as Governor as aforesaid, doth by this Order
in Council delegate, until this Order shall be
revoked, to
JAMES MACKAY, junior, Esq.,
all the powers competent to Commissioners under
the said first recited Act, without any restrictions or
stipulations whatever.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, the
tenth day of January, 1867.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is enacted by "The Customs Duties
Act Amendment Act, 1861," that it shall be
lawful for the Governor by any Order in Council
from time to time to declare that any wine, ale, beer,
or spirits may be delivered out of bond without
payment of duties of Customs, for the consumption
of the Officers of Her Majesty's Troops in the
Colony of New Zealand, and the Officers of Her
Majesty's Navy serving on board any of Her
Majesty's Ships in the seas adjoining thereto, and
may from time to time by any further Order in
Council amend or alter any such Order:

And whereas an Order was made in Council in
exercise of the said power on the fourteenth day of
April, 1862, and it is expedient to make alterations
in the privileges thereby granted:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
New Zealand, doth order that wine only may be
delivered out of bond without payment of duties of
Customs for the consumption of any military or
naval mess, upon the certificate of the President that
