WELLINGTON, SATURDAY, MAY 26, 1866.

To the LEGISLATIVE COUNCILLORS of the Colony of New Zealand, and
the MEMBERS elected to serve in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
of the said Colony, summoned and called to a meeting of the
General Assembly of the said Colony, at the City of Wellington,
on the twenty-eighth day of the month of May instant, to have
been commenced and held, and to every of you—GREETING:

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Meeting of the General Assembly stands prorogued to the
Twenty-eighth day of the month of May instant, nevertheless, for certain
causes and considerations, I have thought fit further to prorogue the same to
SATURDAY, the THIRTIETH day of the month of JUNE next, so that neither
of you on the said Twenty-eighth day of May instant, at the City of Wellington,
are constrained to appear: Commanding, and by the tenor of these presents,
enjoining you and each of you, and all others in this behalf interested, that on
SATURDAY, the THIRTIETH day of the month of JUNE next, at the City of
Wellington aforesaid, personally, you be and appear for the DESPATCH OF BUSINESS,
there to take into consideration the state and welfare of the said Colony of New
Zealand, and therein to do as may seem necessary.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight
Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, at
the Government House at Wellington, and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, this twenty-sixth day of
May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-six.
