THE undermentioned Corps, enrolled previous to
the passing of "The Volunteer Act, 1865," not
having within sixty days of the date on which the
said Act came into operation again tendered their
services to the Government, are, in accordance with
the provisions of section 7 of the said Act, now
disbanded:—
Dunedin Light Horse Volunteers.
Dunedin Highland Rifle Volunteers.

WILLIAM MILLS, Esq.,
Collector of Customs at Auckland, to be a Licensing
Officer under the provisions of "The Arms Act,
1860."
This appointment dates from the first day of
January, 1866.

WALTER H. PILLIET, Esq.,
acting Sub-Collector of Customs at the Port of
Havelock, to be a Licensing Officer under the provi-
sions of "The Arms Act, 1860."
This appointment dates from the nineteenth day of
January, 1866.

sea of Government stores between the various
ports in the Colony, at per cubic foot measure-
ment, specifying the rates between the several ports
respectively.
Tenders to be addressed to the Commissioner of
Customs Office, Wellington, indorsed "Tenders for
Freight."
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

been duly licensed to act as a Custom House
Agent at the Port of Nelson, for the year ending 31st
December, 1866 :—

NOTIFICATION—Whereas by "The New Zealand
Settlements Amendment and Continuance Act,
1865," it is enacted that instead of the periods of six
months, and eighteen months, prescribed by the
seventh section of "The New Zealand Settlements
Act, 1863," for preferring claims to compensation the
period for such purpose shall be a period not less
than three months nor more than six months, to
be prescribed by the Compensation Court in each
case, and due notice of such period for preferring
claims shall be given by direction of the Court by
advertisement in public newspapers, or otherwise by
public notice in the Maori and English language.
And whereas by an Order in Council made by His
Excellency the Governor in Council at Wellington, on
the seventeenth day of January, 1866, it was ordered
that from the date thereof the district, the boundaries
whereof are defined in the Schedule hereto, should
be a district within the provisions of the said "New
Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," and should be
designated by the name of the Bay of Plenty District,
and the lands within the said district were thereby
reserved and taken for the purposes of settlement,
and it was declared that all such lands were required
for the purposes of the said last-mentioned Act, and
are subject to the provisions thereof from the date of
the said Order in Council now in recital :
Now, by the direction of the Compensation Court,
it is hereby notified that the period for preferring
claims to compensation, on account of the taking as
aforesaid of the said block of land, has been pre-
scribed by the Court to be six months from the said
seventeenth day of January.
Dated at Auckland this fifteenth day of March,
1866.

SCHEDULE.
Bay of Plenty District.
All that land bounded by a line commencing at the
mouth of the Waitahanui River, Bay of Plenty, and
running due south to the Tarawera River, thence by
a straight line to the summit of Putauaki (Mount
Edgecombe), thence by a straight line in an easterly
direction to the confluence of the Rivers Tauwhare
and Ohiua, thence by a line running due east for
twenty-five miles, thence by a line to the mouth of
the Aparapara River, in the Bay of Plenty.

NOTICE is hereby given that the adjourned
sittings of the Compensation Court to investi-
gate certain claims for compensation on account of
the taking of the Mangere, Kiri Kiri, Ihumata's and
Pukaki blocks of land under "The New Zealand
Settlements Act, 1863," will be holden at Orakei,
near Auckland, on Tuesday, the 17th of April next,
and following days.

Act, 1865," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare

belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:
- The name and style of the Company is "The
Barracouta Quartz Mining Company, Registered." - The place of operations is at Arrow River.
- The nominal capital of the Company is six
thousand pounds, in twelve hundred shares of five
pounds each. - The amount already paid up is two thousand
four hundred pounds. - The name of the manager is Frederick Walker.
- The office of the Company is at Victoria
Chambers, Merr Street. - The names and several residences of the share-
holders, and the number of shares held by each at
