ORDER IN COUNCIL
Appointing a Special Circuit of the Supreme
Court to be held at Invercargill.

the fourth day of March, 1865.
Present—

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General As-
sembly of New Zealand, intituled "The
Supreme Court Act, 1860," it is provided that
"there shall be held Circuit Courts for the
dispatch of Civil and Criminal Business of the
Court before one of the Judges thereof, at such
places and times as the Governor in Council
may from time to time appoint."

And whereas, by a Proclamation dated the
second day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four, Circuit Courts were
appointed to be held at the Town of Invercargill,
in the Province of Southland, on the days therein
specified.

And whereas it is expedient to alter the
time at which the next Circuit Court shall be
held at the place aforesaid.

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor
with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of New Zealand, doth hereby fix and
appoint that a Circuit Court shall be held at
Invercargill aforesaid, on Tuesday the second
day of May next, or as soon after as may be con-
venient for the dispatch of Civil and Criminal
business, instead of on the twelfth day of April
next as in the said Proclamation contained.

WHEREAS by "The Coupons Act, 1864,"
it is provided that the powers created by
that Act shall not be exercised until the Go-
vernor in Council shall have approved of the
Stamps to be used for the purpose of the said
Act, nor until Regulations as to the manner in
which the same may be used shall have been
issued by the Governor in Council, nor except
in conformity with such Regulations.

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor
in Council, in exercise of the power vested in
him by the said recited Act, doth hereby ap-
prove of certain Stamps, the description of
which is hereunto annexed, and is deposited in
the Office of the Colonial Secretary, to be used
for the purposes of the said Act by the Super-
intendent of the Province of Canterbury, and
doth hereby issue the following Regulations in
conformity with which such Stamps are to be
so used.

the bearer of this Coupon at the Agency
of the Province, London, on the 30th
day of June, 18 , being 6 months'

Coupon.] Province of Canterbury, N.Z.
No.
£500,000 Loan Debenture for £100 Stg.
Three pounds sterling will be paid to
the bearer of this Coupon at the Agency
of the Province, London, on the 31st
day of December, 18 , being 6 months'
Interest on Debenture, No.

Bank of Australia, in London, on the 31st day
of December, 1865, being 6 months' Interest on
Debenture, No.

Regulations.

There shall be only one copy of each of the
said Stamps for stamping Coupons under the
Coupons Act 1864, in the Province of Canter-
bury, which Stamps shall be kept in the custody
of the Provincial Treasurer of the Province of
Canterbury in a strong box having two keys.
One thereof to be in the keeping of the Colo-
nial Treasurer, or of the Colonial Sub-Treasurer
at Canterbury, and the other in the keeping of
the Superintendent of the Province of Canter-
bury. The Stamps shall only be delivered out
to the Superintendent upon his requisition in
writing, for the purpose of stamping a certain
number of Coupons mentioned in such requisi-
tion, and shall be returned by the Superinten-
dent to the above custody immediately after
having been so used. No Debentures or Coupons
shall be stamped with such stamps, nor shall
