IN pursuance of the power in me vested by "The
Protection of Certain Animals Act, 1865," I do
hereby give permission to John Scott Caverhill, Esq.,
of Hawkeswood, to keep foxes in confinement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Grey, Knight Commander of the
Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of December, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-five.

IT is hereby notified that the Governor has been
pleased to delegate to His Honor the Superin-
tendent of the Province of Southland His Excellency's
powers under "The Southland Waste Lands Act,
1865," empowering him to appoint a Waste Land
Board.

ENQUIRIES having been made respecting a
person named

CHARLES SIDEBOTTOM,

stated to have been in the employ of the Post Office,
New Zealand, and reported to have been drowned
while crossing a river, about two years ago, anyone
who can give any information concerning such a
person is requested to communicate the same to this
Office.
