MAJOR-GENERAL GALLOWAY having ten-
dered his resignation of the command of the
Local Forces in the Province of Auckland, His
Excellency the Governor has been pleased to accept
the same.

make the following promotions and appoint-
ments, viz.:-

In the Auckland Militia.

Lieutenant William Alfred Smith to be Captain.

Maurice Norman Bower to be Captain. Date of
Commission, 3rd February, 1865.
Lieutenant Duncan Michie Brown to be Captain.
Date of Commission, 4th February, 1865.
Lieutenant Horatio Lloyd Williams to be Captain.

Nicholas Price Carver to be Supernumary Ensign.
