A PROCLAMATION
Proroguing the General Assembly.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of
the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the twenty-second day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-five, the General Assembly of New Zealand was summoned to meet for the despatch of
business, on Monday the twenty-fourth day of July instant: And whereas it is expedient to prorogue
the same:
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the authority
in me vested in that behalf, do hereby prorogue the said General Assembly to WEDNESDAY, the twenty-
sixth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five: And I do hereby further announce and
proclaim that the said General Assembly shall assemble for the despatch of business on the said
twenty-sixth day of July at two o'clock, p.m., at the Parliament Houses, situate at Molesworth-street,
in the city of Wellington, and the Honorable Members of the Legislative Council, and the Members
of the House of Representatives, respectively, are hereby required to give their attendance at the said
time and place accordingly.
Given under my hand, at the Government House at Wellington, and issued under the Seal
of the Colony of New Zealand, this fifteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.
