Notice of intended application to the Legislature of
New Zealand for Private Bill.
In the Matter of the Estates settled on Felix
Wakefield, Esquire, of Nelson, in the Province
of Nelson with remainder to his issue, which
estates are situate in the Province of Canterbury,
in New Zealand.
NOTICE is hereby given that application will be
made in the ensuing Session of Parliament of
New Zealand, for an Act to enable the Trustees of a
certain Indenture of Settlement, dated the 14th day
of July, 1851, whereby certain lands and heredita-
ments are settled to the use of Felix Wakefield, of
Nelson, for his life with remainder to his children, to
make leases of the Trust Estates comprised in such
settlement with option of purchase at certain prices
to be given to the tenants, and also to make leases
of such land for any term not exceeding ninety-nine
years for building purposes, and to give power to
such Trustees to dedicate and appropriate part of
the settled estates for divers specified public purposes.
Except as aforesaid the said Bill is not intended to
confer, vary, or extinguish any rights or privilege.
A copy of the proposed Bill will be deposited in
the Private Bill Office withih fourteen days of the
commencement of the next Session, pursuant to the
Standing Order in that behalf.

Notice of intended application to the Legislature of
New Zealand for Private Bill.
NOTICE is hereby given that application will be
made in the ensuing Session of the Parliament
of New Zealand by John Cracroft Wilson, of Cash-
mere, in the Province of Canterbury, for a Bill au-
thorising the said John Cracroft Wilson, his heirs
and assigns, to make and maintain a Mill Dam across
the river Heathcote, in the Province of Canterbury,
at a convenient point in the river Heathcote, on the
island situate in the said river Heathcote, being
section 815 and opposite to sections 76 and 562 on
the Map of the Chief Surveyor of the said Province
of Canterbury, and for such purpose to dam up and
raise the level of the water in such river to the height
of three feet above the present level, and confer upon
the said John Cracroft Wilson the power of cleansing
and scouring such river Heathcote, either above or
below the said dam for preventing any damage which
might otherwise be occasioned by the raising of such
water level and also to confer power upon the said
John Cracroft Wilson at reasonable hours to enter
upon any lands on the banks of the said river for the
purposes aforesaid with due notice of such entry to
the occupiers of such lands.
Save as aforesaid the Bill is not intended to confer,
vary, or extinguish any right or privileges.
The water which it is proposed to dam up and
divert as aforesaid is known as the river Heathcote.
The proposed work affects the Lincoln District, of
the Province of Canterbury, only.
A copy of the proposed Bill will be deposited in
the Private Bill Office within fourteen days of the
commencement of the next Session pursuant to the
Standing Order in that behalf.

measured seventy links or thereabouts from the
Bridge over the said River on the Lower Lincoln
Road where the said road forms the North-western
boundary of the section numbered 76 on the Plan of
the Chief Surveyor of the
Province of Canterbury, and for such purpose to dam
up and raise the level of the water in such river to
the height of three feet above the present level, and
to confer upon the said John Cracroft Wilson the
power of cleansing and scouring such river Heathcote,

Notice of intended application to the Legislature of
New Zealand for a Private Bill.
In the matter of the Will of George Rhodes,
late of Purau, in the Province of Canterbury,
deceased.
NOTICE is hereby given that application will be
made in the ensuing Session of the Parliament
of New Zealand for an Act to enable the Governor
of New Zealand to issue Crown Grants of divers
parcels of land situate in the Province of Canterbury,
purchased by the deceased George Rhodes, together
with other persons whereof only licenses to occupy
have been issued to the said persons under the
statutable regulations in force for the sale of land in
the Province of Canterbury, such Crown Grant to
be in the name of the said George Rhodes and other
the joint purchasers with him notwithstanding the
decease of the said George Rhodes, and such Grants
to be dated prior to the said decease, and that such
Act should declare that the fee simple in such land
shall be deemed to have vested to all intents and
purposes and conclusively against all persons in the
said George Rhodes as though the seal had been
affixed thereto prior to his decease, and also for
giving powers to the Trustees in the Will of the said
George Rhodes named to make sales and exchanges,
partitions and leases, for ninety-nine years of the
real estates devised by such Will notwithstanding the
provisions thereof and for power of appointment of
new Trustees of such Will.
The Bill is not intended to confer, vary, or
extinguish any rights or privileges, save so far as the
grant of power to make sales, exchanges, partitions,
or leases, for ninety-nine years may be considered to
do so.
A copy of the proposed Bill will be deposited in
the Private Bill Office within fourteen days of the
commencement of the Session, pursuant to the
Standing Order in that behalf.
