District of Tauranga, in the Province of
Auckland.

Proclamations under Diseased Cattle Act, by
Superintendent, Southland, re-published..

THE following Proclamations issued by
His Honor the Superintendent of the
Province of Southland, under the provisions
of the "Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," are re-
published for general information.

WILLIAM FOX.

PROCLAMATION
By JAMES A. R. MENZIES, Esq., Super-
tendent of the Province of South-
land.

IN Pursuance of the power in me vested, I
do hereby proclaim and declare that the Waste
Lands of the Crown, comprised within the
boundaries hereinafter described, shall be
Quarantine Grounds within the meaning of,
and under the provisions of the "Diseased
Cattle Act, 1861."

  1. Bounded on the north by a right line
    drawn from trigonometrical station W., on
    the Ocean Beach; eastwards to the River
    Oreti, at the south-west angle of Block XVII.,
    Invercargill Hundred; on the east, south,
    and west by the Oreti River and Estuary and
    the ocean.

  2. Bounded on the north by the Ferry
    Reserve, New River Hundred; on the east
    by the west boundary of Block I., of the said
    Hundred to its intersection of the Tomopor-
    akau Stream; thence by the Tomoporakau
    to the Riverton Road; on the south by the
    Riverton Road to the Oreti River; on the
    west by the Oreti River.

  3. Bounded on the north-west by a right
    line drawn from trigonometrical station G.G.,
    Invercargill Hundred, to the east angle of
    Section 5, Block XVII., of the said Hundred;
    on the south-west by a right line drawn from
    the said section 5, towards the south-west
    angle of section 9, Block III. of the said
    Hundred, until the said line cuts the Estuary
    of Waihopai; on the east by the said Estuary.

PROCLAMATION
By JAMES A. R. MENZIES, Esq., Super-
tendent of the Province of South-
land.

WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor in
Council has been pleased to delegate, under
the "Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," to the
Superintendent of the Province of Southland,
the several powers vested in the Governor by
the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 10th Sections
of the said Act, subject to the Regulations
contained in the Order in Council of 18th
October, 1861;

And whereas by a Proclamation given
under my hand, dated 10th September, 1863,
it was declared that, under certain conditions
specified, the Inspector of Cattle was author-
ised to grant certificates to land, in the Pro-
vince of Southland, cattle shipped at the Port
of Twofold Bay, in the Colony of New South
Wales;

And whereas it is expedient to alter the
same;

Now therefore, I, the said Superintendent,
in virtue of the powers in me vested, do
hereby revoke the said Proclamation, in so
far as it relates to the Port of Twofold Bay,
in the Colony of New South Wales aforesaid,
and I do hereby proclaim and declare that
the Inspectors under the said Act shall not
be authorised to grant certificates to land in
the Province of Southland any cattle which
shall have been shipped on or after the tenth
day of February, 1864, at the Port of Two-
fold Bay, in the Colony of New South
Wales.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to appoint

BELFIELD WOOLCOMBE
to be Registrar of Marriages, and Registrar
of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, in the
District of Timaru, as the same is described
in a Proclamation bearing date the nineteenth
day of February, 1864, and published in this
Gazette.

This appointment to take effect from the
1st day of April next.
