AUCKLAND, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 1864.

A PROCLAMATION

Proroguing the General Assembly.

By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight
Commander of the Most Honorable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the Eighteenth
day of October, One thousand eight hundred
and sixty-four, the General Assembly of New Zealand
was summoned to meet for the Despatch of business
on Monday, the Twenty-first day of November
instant, and whereas it is expedient to prorogue the
same :

Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of
New Zealand, in pursuance of the authority in mevested
in that behalf, do hereby prorogue the said General
Assembly to Wednesday, the Twenty-third day of
November, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-
four: And I do hereby further announce and proclaim
that the said General Assembly shall assemble for the
despatch of business on the said Twenty-third day of
November, at two o'clock, p.m., at Auckland, and
the Honorable Members of the Legislative Council,
and the Members of the House of Representatives,
respectively, are hereby required to give their
attendance at the said time and place accordingly.

Given under my hand, at the Government House,
at Auckland, and issued under the Seal
of the Colony of New Zealand, this nine-
teenth day of November, in the year of
Our Lord One thousand cight hundred
and sixty-four.
