intents and purposes as if his name had been inserted
in the Schedule to that Act annexed: Provided
always that every such Proclamation shall contain the
description, occupation, or calling of every person
therein named and his place of residence at the date
of such Proclamation:

Now therefore, I, the Governor of New Zealand,
in pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do nerepy prociam anu
declare that the persons hereinafter mentioned shall
come within the operation of the said Act from
the dates hereinafter specified, viz :-

HENRY KUSABS,
from the first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-three, native of Prussia, carpenter;
residence, Auckland, in the Province of Auckland.

JEAN DESIRE FERAUD,
from the first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four, native of Vence, in France,
wine and spirit merchant; residence, Clyde, in the
Province of Otago.

MAXIMILIAN ALEXANDER,
from the 1st day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four, native of Prussia, jeweller
and watchmaker; residence, Blenhiem, in the Pro-
vince of Marlborough.

LUEIS BERLINER,
from the first day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four, native of Poland, draper;
residence, Christchurch, in the Province of Canter-
bury.

ANDREW SANDER,
from the fifth day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four, native of Sweden, sailor; re-
sidence, Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury.

EARNEST SYDLE,
from the sixth day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four, native of Germany, settler;
residence, Onehunga, in the Province of Auckland.

Given under my hand, at the Government
House, at Auckland, and issued under
the Seal of the Colony of New Zealand,
this twenty-eighth day of September, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four.

A PROCLAMATION

For the Naturalization of a certain Person.

By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight
Commander of the Most Honorable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS by the "Naturalization Act, 1863,"
it is enacted that every person who shall be
declared to come within the operation of that Act by
any Proclamation, to be issued in that behalf by His
Excellency the Governor, shall, as from the time in
such Proclamation specified, be deemed and taken,
until the termination of the next Session of the
General Assembly, to be, and to have been from such
specified time, a natural-born subject of Her Majesty
within the Colony of New Zealand, as fully to all

intents and purposes as if his name had been inserted
in the Schedule to that Act annexed: Provided
always that every such Proclamation shall contain
the description, occupation, or calling of every person
therein named, and his place of residence at the date
of such Proclamation:

Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor
of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and
authority in me vested by the said Act, do hereby
prociam autem
mentioned shall come within the operation of the
said Act from the date hereinafter specified, viz :-

ANTONIO ZUNINO,
from the first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-three, native of Genoa, carpenter;
residence, Blenheim, in the Province of Marlborough.

Given under my hand, at Government House,
at Auckland, and issued under the
seal of the Colony of New Zealand,
this fourth day of October, in the
year of our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four.

NOTE.โ€”This Proclamation is issued in consequence
of the name as forwarded having been mis-spelt
"Tunino," in a Proclamation dated 3rd of August
last, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 30,
of the 10th ultimo.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

G. GREY, Governor.

At the Government House, at Auckland, the
29th day of September, 1864.

Present:-

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Native Dis-
tricts Regulation Act, 1858," it is provided that it
shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from
time to time to appoint districts for the purposes of
the said Act, being districts over which the Native
Title shall not for the time being have been ex-
tinguished :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of his Executive
Council, doth hereby order, appoint, and declare that
the territory hereafter described shall be a district
for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say: All
territory lying within a boundary line commencing
at Ngakuriawhaare (to the north of Katikati), pro-
ceeding thence by a line running in a westerly
direction to the summit of Te Aroha-auta; thence in
a southerly direction along the Aroha ranges to
Mangatawa; thence by a line to the summit of Ota-
newainuku, thence by a direct line to the mouth of
the Wairakei stream on the sea coast; thence by the
coast line (including the Island of Teehua) to the
commencing point. And doth appoint and declare
that the said district shall be called the Native Dis-
trict of Tauranga.

And doth declare that this Order shall take effect
from and after the Twenty-ninth day of September,
1864.
