THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

to state that, since 10th February last, litho-
graphed charts of the entrance to Port
Waikato have been for sale by J. Varty,
Queen Street, and George Pulman, Short-
land Street, and notice to that effect was at
the time inserted in each of the daily news-
papers. Charts were also forwarded for sale
in each of the principal towns in the other
Provinces except Marlborough and South-
land. Charts were also forwarded for sale
in Sydney and Melbourne.

CUSTOMS NOTICE.

Appointing a Bonded Warehouse at Christchurch.

Custom House, Lyttelton,
20th July, 1864.

THE Warehouse in the Port of Lyttelton
(Christchurch branch) which will be known
as "Walter Warner and Co.'s Bonding Ware-
house," and is described below, has been
approved and appointed under clause XI. of
the "Customs Regulation Act, 1858," as a
warehouse for securing goods under bond
without payment of duty on the first entry
thereof.

A two-storied stone building (about 55
feet by 27), owned and occupied by
Messrs. Walton Warner and Company,
and newly erected by them on Oxford
Terrace West, between Hereford and
Cashel Streets, and on part of Christ-
church town section numbered 860 on
the maps of the Chief Surveyor of
Canterbury.

THE undermentioned person has been duly
licensed, under Clause 16 of the Cus-
toms Regulation Act, 1858," to act as a
Custom House Agent at the Port of Picton:

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

ROCK IN HAWKE'S BAY.

THE Harbour-Master at Napier has re-
ported to the Marine Board, that he has

discovered a rock in Hawke's Bay, having a
depth of only 12Β½ feet on it at low water
spring tides. He gives the following bearings:

From rock to east end of Ahuriri Bluff
S. by E.
From rock to west point of Bluff S. W. by S.
From rock to Cape Kidnappers S.E. E.

The above bearings place the rock on the
inner or southern portion of the shoal marked
in Captain Drury's charts with 4Β½ and 4
fathoms on it bearing N. by W. from Ahu-
riri Bluff, about five cable lengths distant.
A buoy has been placed ten fathoms north
of the rock, by keeping outside of which
vessels will clear the shoal east of the Bluff.

Bank of Otago Limited Act, 1863, Amendment.

NOTICE is hereby given that application
is intended to be made to the General
Assembly at the next Session thereof for an
Act to Amend the "Bank of Otago Limited
Act 1863," by repealing the sections thereof
which relate to the liability of the Share-
holders in the Bank of Otago, and by assimi-
lating such liability to the liability of Share-
holders in a Banking Company authorized to
issue notes, and registered under the Act of
the Imperial Parliament, made and passed in
the 25th and 26th years of the Reign of Her
present Majesty, called "The Companies
Act, 1862," and to render the said Company
liable to unlimited liability in respect of the
issue of notes by the said Company in New
Zealand, and further to amend the first-named
Act.

And notice is further given that printed
copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited
in the Private Bill Office within fourteen days
after the commencement of the Session.

Errata.

IN Gazette No. 23, of the 25th June last,
folio 275, in the notice appointing
Deputies to the Returning Officers, the
column headed "For the Election of Mem-
bers of the Provincial Council," the 12th
name read Alexander Lean, Rakaia, instead
of Alexander Jean, Rakaia.

In the Gazette notice appointing John
Ryan to be Registrar of Marriages, &c., No.
27, page 300, for 11th instant, read 1st in-
stant, as the day from which the appoint-
ment bears date.
