Warrant abolishing Polling Places.

By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY,
Knight Commander of the Most
Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c.

To all to whom these presents shall come,
Greeting:-

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of
Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor, by
Warrant under his hand, from time to time
to appoint Polling Places for each Electoral
District, within or without the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such places to be
the Principal Polling Place for the District,
and all or any of such Polling Places at any
time to abolish and to appoint other Polling
Places in lieu thereof; and whereas Mr.
Kidd's house, Taraire, Province of Auckland,
was appointed a Polling Place for the District
of Bay of Islands, for the Election of
Superintendents or Members of Provincial
Council of the Province of Auckland.

And whereas it is expedient to abolish
the same; now know ye, that I, Sir George
Grey, the Governor of the said Colony, in
pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby abolish
the above-named Polling Place for the Dis-
trict of Bay of Islands, for the Election of

Superintendents or Members of Provincial
Council of the Province of Auckland.

Given under my hand, at the Govern-
ment House, at Auckland, this
twenty-ninth day of June, in the
year of our Lord, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty-four.

ty's Principal Secretary of State for the
Colonies is published for general information.

Downing Street, 23rd April, 1864.

SIR,β€”The following instructions have been
drawn up by Her Majesty's Government for
the guidance of Her Majesty's Civil and
Naval authorities abroad, during the con-
tinuance of the present hostilities between
Denmark and the German Powers, and it
will be your duty to take care that these
instructions are strictly observed within the
Colony under your Government.

  1. During the continuance of the present
    hostilities between His Majesty the King of
    Denmark, on the one side, and His Majesty
    the Emperor of Austria, His Majesty the
    King of Prussia, and the Germanic Confede-
    ration, or any of these Powers, on the other
    side, no prize captured or taken by any
