ORDER IN COUNCIL.

CUSTOMS.

G. GREY.

At the Government House at Auckland, the
twenty-first day of October, 1863.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, intituled,
the "Militia Act, 1858," it is enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Governor in Council,
from time to time, to constitute throughout the
Colony, or in any part thereof, Militia Dis-
tricts; and such Districts, from time to time,
to vary and to designate the Militia of any
such Districts by the name of a Regiment,
Battalion, Corps, or Company.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Gover-
nor, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, in exercise of the above
power doth, by this present order, constitute
the following Militia District to be called and
known by the name following, viz..

THE CASTLE POINT DISTRICT.

And doth define the said District to be all the
Territory comprised within the circumference
of a circle whereof the radius extends fifteen
miles from Mr. Thomas Guthrie's house at
Castle Point.

And doth designate the Militia of the said
District a Regiment.

GOVERNOR'S ORDER, No. 40.

Appointing Oamaru a Warehousing Port.

By His Excellency Sir George
Grey, Knight, Commander
of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Gover-
nor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependen-
cies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same, &c., &c., &c.

IN exercise of the power in me for this
purpose vested by the "Customs Regu-
lation Act, 1858," I, Sir George Grey, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint that the Port of OAMARU shall
be a Warehousing Port for the purposes of the
"Customs Regulation Act, 1858," and do
hereby approve of the same as a Port for the
Importation of Tobacco.

vernment House, at Auck-
land, this twenty-second
day of October, one thou-
sand eight hundred and
sixty-three.
