Members Summoned to Legislative Council.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in Her
Majesty's name, summoned
HENRY WALTON, of Wangarei, in the province
of Auckland, and
THOMAS RENWICK, of Nelson, in the province
of Nelson, Esquires,
to the Legislative Council of New Zealand, by
Writs of Summons under the seal of the colony.

Turton Henry Hanson elected a Member of the
House of Representatives.

IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED that a Writ
issued for the Election of a Member of
the House of Representatives for the Electoral
District of the Town of New Plymouth has
been returned with a certificate to the effect
that
HENRY HANSON TURTON, Esq.,
has been duly elected.

THE BANK OF OTAGO, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is
intended to be made to the General
Assembly, at the ensuing Session thereof, for
leave to bring in a Bill, to be intituled, "An
Act to incorporate the Shareholders of a certain
Banking Company, called 'the Bank of Otago,
Limited,' and to enable the said Company to
carry on its Business and issue Notes in New
Zealand," and that the objects of such Bill will
be to incorporate the Shareholders of the said
Company by the name of "The Bank of Otago,
Limited," with perpetual succession, and a
common seal, to enable the said Company to
sue and be sued in their said corporate name,
to issue Promissory Notes in New Zealand,
payable to bearer on demand, and to carry on,
by means of a branch or branches, in any part
or parts of the said Colony of New Zealand,
the different kinds of Banking and other
Business specified in the Memorandum of
Association of the said Company, bearing date
the twenty-fourth day of April, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty-three.
And notice is hereby further given that
copies of the said Bill will be deposited in the
Private Bill Office, within fourteen days from
the commencement of the Session.

BLUFF HARBOUR AND INVERCARGILL
RAILWAY AND EXTENSION.
NOTICE is hereby given, that application
is intended to be made, at the ensuing
Session of the General Assembly, for an Act to
empower the Superintendent of the Province of
Southland to take and purchase compulsorily
lands required for the purposes of the Bluff Har-
bour and Invercargill Railway, authorised to be
constructed by the "Bluff Harbour and Invercar-
gill Railway Ordinance, 1863," of the Legisla-
ture of the said Province, or within the limits
