ORDER IN COUNCIL.
Embodying Alterations in and Additions to the Re-
gulations under the "Land Registry Amendment
Act, 1861."

At the Government House at Auckland, the
fifteenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-three.
Present:-
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the "Land Registry
Act, 1861," it was enacted
that certain Regulations contained in the
Schedule thereto should be the Regulations
according to which the practice and procedure
under the "Land Registry Act, 1860," should
be regulated and conducted; and it was further
provided that it should be lawful for the Re-
gistrar-General of Land from time to time to
rescind, add to, amend, or alter all or any of
such Regulations which related to matters re-
specting which, by the said Act, he was em-
powered to make Regulations; and it was
further provided that it should be lawful for
the Governor in Council to rescind, add to,
amend, or alter, all or any of the said Regula-
tions, which related to matters other than
those respecting which the Registrar-General
of Land was empowered to make Regulations.
Now I, the said Sir George Grey, the Go-
vernor, by and with the advice of the Executive
Council, by virtue of the power so vested in
me as aforesaid, do hereby rescind, add to,
amend, and alter the said Regulations in man-
ner following, that is to say-
The following Regulations are hereby re-
scinded:-
Nos. 21, 22, 23, 25, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33,
34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 47, 55, 56, 57, 58,
60, 61, 62, 67, 68, 69, 78, 80, 82, 86,
98, 99, 100, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108,
109, 110, 112, and 114.
The following Regulations are hereby added
to the said Regulations, and are respectively
numbered as hereinafter mentioned; that is
to say-
9A. Pending the construction of Registra-
tion Maps, Maps on original Crown Grants
referred to as and for the purposes of
Registration Maps, and the same need not be
signed by the Registrar General.
14A. Maps or Plans attached to applications
may, in the discretion of the District Regis-
trar, be referred to as and for the purposes of
sub-divisional Registration Maps.
53A. In the case of every application to Re-
gister Title for the first time, no person shall
be registered as proprietor without the ap-
proval of the Registrar General, or of such
other Barrister or Solicitor as may from time
to time be designated by him in that behalf,
with the approval of the Governor.
- Subjoined or attached to every Certi-
ficate of Charge shall be a Memorandum of
the Inhibition affecting such Charge, referring
to their respective registered numbers.
73A. No transfer of Proprietorship of Land
or Charge shall be registered without delivery
up of the existing Certificate, except in case
of sale or transfer under order or Decree of
the Supreme Court.
75A. A proprietor intending to subdivide
