THE following Table of Rates of Postage is published for general information.

TABLE showing the total amount of postage, including the Colonial Inland rate, to be collect
Mauritius, upon Letters, and the postage, exclusive of the Colonial Inland rate, to be collected upon Ne
Kingdom addressed to the undermentioned Colonies and Foreign Countries.
The postage set down in this Table for Letters is for their conveyance, via Southampton, and whe
les, a further postage of four-pence per half-ounce is to be collected. The postage for Book Packets is
they may be sent.
As regards Letters for the Azores, Cape de Verde Islands, Canary Islands, Madeira and Portugal,
the United Kingdom, and a further postage of six-pence for each quarter-of-an-ounce is to be collected up
tugal, and four-pence for each quarter-of-an-onnce upon those addressed to the Cape de Verde Islands and
Book Packets for the Azores and Portugal are liable to a charge of two-pence per ounce, and those
one penny per ounce, in addition to the rates given below. The postage of a Newspaper or Book Packet
weight does not exceed two ounces.
