Wairau District.
Bounded on the North by the Southern
boundary of Picton District from the range of
hills dividing White's Bay from Robin Hood's
Bay to Mount Richmond, thence by a line
running Northerly to the red hills, thence by
the Eastern boundary of the Nelson District
to the Wairau Gorge, thence to the summit of
the Watershed between the Gorge and Bare-
fell's Pass, thence to the Upper Gorge of the
Clarence, thence in a Southeasterly direction to
the summit of the Gorge, thence along the
range by the summits to Mounts Freya and
Thor, thence to the junction of the first branch
of the Clarence, thence down the Clarence to
its mouth, thence following the Sea Coast to
the aforesaid range of hills dividing White's
Bay from Robin Hood's Bay.

And I do declare that this Proclamation
shall come into operation and take effect on
and from the fourteenth day of September,
One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

Given under my hand, at the
Government House, at Auck-
land, and issued under the
seal of the Colony of New
Zealand, this thirtieth day of
July, in the year of our
Lord One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-three.

A PROCLAMATION
Appointing a certain District under the
"Marriage Act Amendment Act, 1858."

By His Excellency Sir GEORGE
GREY, Knight Commander of
the Most Honourable Order of
the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.

HEREAS by the "Marriage Act
Amendment Act, 1858," it is enacted
that it shall be lawiul for the Governor at any
time by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette to divide the Colony of New Zealand
for the purposes of the said Act into such
and so many Districts as he may think fit,
and that every such District shall be called
by a distinct name and shall be a Registrar's
District; and it is provided that the Go-
vernor may at any time revoke the whole or
any part of such Proclamation and issue a
new Proclamation dividing the Colony or any
part of it anew into Districts, or increasing
the number or altering the boundaries of
Districts as from time to time he may think
requisite:

Now, therefore, I Sir George Grey, the
Governor of the said Colony of New Zea-
land, do hereby revoke every Proclamation

heretofore issued, so far as they relate to the
constitution of the Districts at present desig-
nated the District of Wairau and the District
of Awatere, and do proclaim and declare that
the territory hitherto comprised within such
Districts shall be and is hereby constituted
for the purposes of the said Act into One
District, the name and boundaries whereof
shall be as follows :-

WAIRAU DISTRICT.

thence down the Clarence to its mouth,
thence following the sea coast to the aforesaid
range of hills dividing White's Bay from
Robin Hood's Bay.

And I do declare that this Proclamation
shall come into operation and take effect on

One thousand eight hundred and sixty-
three.

THE following Act passed by the General
Assembly of New Zealand, in the Session
held in the twenty-sixth year of the reign of
Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituledβ€”
"An Act to amend the Customs Duties
Act, 1858, in relation to military
supplies,"

having been laid before the Queen in confor-
mity with the provisions of the Constitution
Act, His Excellency the Governor has been
informed by the Secretary of State that Her
Majesty will not be advised to exercise her
power of disallowance with respect to that Act.
