out prejudice to the Regulations published in
the Government Gazette, No. 9, dated the 6th
February, 1862.
Regulation.
Bankers' Parcels, containing only Bank
Notes, Orders, Bills, and Promissory Notes,
Cheques, Passbooks, or Bank Returns, sent by
or to any Bank, or Banker, within the Colony,
(provided such parcels are securely closed and
sealed and contain no letter or communication
in the nature of a letter and bear along with
the address of such parcel, the words "Bank-
er's Parcel, without Letter," subscribed by the
sender of such parcel, with his name and ad-
dress,) shall be received as Book Packets and
shall be transmitted, within the Colony, at the
same rates as Book Packets.

WARRANT.
Altering times for holding District Courts
at Lower Hutt and Greytown.

the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS, by the "District Courts
Act, 1858," it is enacted that there
shall be, within the colony, Courts of Record
possessing Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction, to
be called District Courts; and the Governor is
empowered from time to time, by notification
in the New Zealand Gazette, to fix the times
and places within the District at which every
such Court shall be held, and in like manner
such times and places to alter or abolish, as
he shall think fit, now, therefore, I, Sir George
Grey, the Governor of the colony, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the said power
and authority, fix that Sessions of the District
Court of the Hutt shall be held as follows,
viz.:
At the Lower Hutt, on the third Monday
of January, and of every alternate month
thereafter; and
At Greytown, on the Thursday next after
the day appointed for the sitting of the Court
at the Lower Hutt.

wood, to be a Licensing Officer under the pro-
visions of the "Arms Act, 1860."

TENDERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF
TREASURY BILLS.
Treasury, Auckland,
November 22nd, 1862.
NOTICE is hereby given that Tenders
will be received at this Office up to one
o'clock, p.m. of the 22nd December, 1862,
from persons desirous of purchasing Treasury
Bills to an amount not exceeding £25,000,
bearing interest at 6 per centum, per annum,
to be issued by the Colonial Treasurer of
New Zealand, under the provisions of an Act
passed during the last Session of the General
Assembly, entitled "The Loan Act, 1862."
These Bills will be issued for sums of £50 or
£100, and will be payable at the expiration
of six months from the dates of issue, on present-
ation of the Bills at the Colonial Treasury at
Auckland, or at the sub-Treasury in any
other Province, together with the interest
thereon.
Each Tender must state the amount in coin
proposed to be given for each Treasury Bill
of £50 or £100, as the case may be, and the
number and amount of such Treasury Bills
which the Tenderer proposes to take.
Tenders by the same person at various
rates must be made out and delivered sepa-
rately.
In case of equality of Tenders beyond the
sum for which Tenders are invited, they will
be subject to a pro rata diminution.
The Tenders will be opened and read be-
fore all Tenderers who may desire to be pre-
sent, and the purchasers will be declared to be
those who may offer the highest prices, not
being under the minimum previously fixed,
and which will be contained in a sealed paper
placed on the table before the Tenders are
opened.
