HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to
be notified that
CHARLES ROBERT BLAKISTON, Esq.,
has resigned his seat in the Legislative Council
of New Zealand, and that His Excellency ac-
cepted such resignation on the 15th instant.

THE following Acts passed by the Provin-
cial Council of the Province of Taranaki,
intituled,

"An Ordinance to prolong the operation of
the "Ordinances Suspension Ordinance,
1860."

"An Ordinance to appropriate Money for
the Public Service for the Province of
Taranaki for the year ending 31st De-
cember, 1862."

having been laid before the Governor His Ex-
cellency has been pleased to leave the same to
their operation.

THE following Bill passed by the Provincial
Council of the Province of Taranaki, in-
tituled,

"An Ordinance to authorise the Superin-
tendent to raise a sum of Β£25,000 for the
Public Service of the Province of Tara-
naki,"

which Bill was reserved for the signification of
the Governor's pleasure thereon having been
laid before the Governor, His Excellency has
been pleased to assent to the same.

I, JOHN BOYLE BENNETT, Registrar
of Joint-Stock Companies within the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that
I have registered a Memorandum of Associa-
tion, with Articles of Association, establishing
a Company, (with limited liability of the
Shareholders therein), entitled,

"KEVENS REEF GOLD-MINING COMPANY,
(LIMITED);"

the objects of which are, "1st, The purchase
of the Claim of Messieurs Keven, Woodin,
and Company to a portion of a Gold-bearing
Quartz Reef at Coromandel, in the Province
of Auckland; secondly, the Working and
Mining of the said Reef, and extracting Gold
therefrom with or without Machinery, and by
any practicable ways and means that may be
deemed expedient; and, thirdly, the extracting
Gold in like manner from Quartz and other
Minerals for other Companies and Persons:"
And that, in pursuance of the provisions of
"the Joint-Stock Companies Act, 1860," I
have issued a Certificate of Incorporation of
the said Company, bearing date this tenth
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-two.
