notified for general information, that all parties
requiring to make use of the Fitzroy Dry
Dock, or the machinery at that Establishment,
are to apply, in writing, to the Engineer-in-
Chief, who will register all such applications in
the order in which they are received.
NOTE.—The Dock has from 19 to 20 feet of water
over the Caisson-sill at highwater, and is now capable
of taking in a vessel of 350 feet over all, and when
completed 400 feet.

IN conformity with the 7th Clause of the
"Gold Fields Act, 1858," it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant Leases for
Gold Mining purposes on the Crown Lands
within the district of the Nelson Gold Fields,
specified in the following applications.

Situated in the bed of Lightband's Creek
below the long falls; bounded on the East and
West by lines bearing S.E. 157°, 800 links;

and S. 180°, 450 links, with a breadth of
100 links; intersected from North to South by
Lightband's Creek; the angles being marked
by stakes.

Situated in the bed of McCartney's Creek;
bounded on the East and West by lines bear-
