the Superintendent as in the said Act pro-
vided, the Superintendent shall forthwith
transmit to the Governor an authentic copy
thereof, and it shall be lawful for the Gover-
or at any time within three months after
any such Bill shall have been received by
him to declare by Proclamation his disallow-
ance of such Bill, and that any such disal-
lowance shall make void and annul the same
from and after the day of the date of such
Proclamation or any subsequent day to be
named therein.

And whereas the Ordinance hereinafter
specified has been enacted by the Superin-
tendent of the Province of Canterbury, with
the advice and consent of the Provincial
Council thereof, and the said Ordinance was
received by the Governor on the Twenty-
ninth day of August, One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-one:

And whereas it is expedient that the said
Ordinance should be disallowed:

Now, therefore, I, the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance of the authority vested
in me in that behalf by the said recited Act
of Parliament, do hereby proclaim and de-
elare my disallowance of the following Ordi-
nance passed by the Superintendent and Pro-
vincial Council of the Province of Canter-
bury, viz. :-

"Pleuro-Pneumonia Prevention Ordinance,
1861, Lession XVI., No. 1.

Given under my hand at the Govern-
ment House, at Auckland, and
under the Public Seal of the
Colony of New Zealand, this
fifth day of Septemher, in
the year of Our Lord, One thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-one.

PROCLAMATION.

Establishing District Courts Wellington,
Hutt, Wanganui, Nelson and Marlborough.

By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of the
Most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies, and Vice-Admiral of
the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS by the β€œ District Courts
Act, 1858,” it is enacted that there
shall be within the Colony of New Zealand,
Courts of Record, possessing Civil and Cri-
minal Jurisdiction to be called District Courts,
and the Governor is empowered from time to
time as he shall think fit by Proclamation in
the New Zealand Gazette to constitute
throughout the Colony or in any part thereof
Districts within which such Courts shall be
respectively held, and such Districts to abolish
and the boundaries thereof to define or alter,

and also to declare by what local name such
Courts shall be designated:

And whereas by certain Proclamations made
in pursuance of the said recited power, issued
under the public seal of the Colony on the
23rd day of February, the 30th day of June,
and the 30th day of June respectively, all in
the year one thousand eight hundred and
fifty-nine, the District of Nelson, the district
of Wanganui, and the district of Wellington,
were constituted to be district within which
Courts should be held under the said Acti:

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the
said Districts and to establish other Districts in
lieu thereof, and to constitute additional Dis-
tricts in other parts of the Colony:

Now, therefore I, the Governor, in pur-
suance and execution of the aforesaid authority
do hereby abolish the said Districts and de
proclaim and constitute the several Districts
of the Colony hereinafter described or referred
to to be Districts within which District Courts
shall be held under the said Act:

And in further pursuance and exercise of the
authority aforesaid, I do hereby declare that
the said Courts shall be designated by the
names which are hereunder respectively speei-
fied, that is to say:

Designation of Court. Description of District.
The District Court of Wellington. So much and such part of the Province of Wellington as is comprised within the Electoral Districts of Wellington City and Porirua for the election of Members of the House of Representatives.
The District Court of the Hutt So much and such part of the Province of Wellington as is comprised within the Electoral Districts, as aforesaid, of the Hutt and Wairararapa.
The District Court of Wanganui. So much and such part of the Province of Wellington as is comprised within the Districts, as aforesaid, of Rangitikei and Wanganui.
The District Court of Nelson. The Province of Nelson.
The District Court of Marlborough. The Province of Marlborough.

under the public seal of the
Colony, at Government House
at Auckland, in the said Colony,
this sixth day of September,
in the year of our Lord, One
thousand eight hundred and
sixty-one.
