The apparent discrepancy between the acreage disposal of and the money receipts arises from the fact that these latter in the December quarter shew only the amount of deposit at 10 per cent on much of the land alienated at 5s. per acre.

Parliament sat at General Assembly House (nicknamed the 'Shedifice') in Auckland from 1854-1864, sharing the building with the Auckland Provincial Council.

Ironically the Upper House met on the lower story, and the Lower House on the upper story.
