A PROCLAMATION
Appointing a Circuit Court to be held at
Auckland.

By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of
the Most Honourable Order of
the Bath, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief, in and over
Her Majesty Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, intituled
"The Supreme Court Act, 1860," it is provided
that there shall be held Circuit Courts for the
despatch of Civil and Criminal business of the
Court before one of the Judges thereof, at such
times and places as the Governor in Council
may from time to time appoint. And whereas
by a Proclamation dated the twenty-sixth day
of February, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-one, Circuit Courts were appointed to be
held at the places and on the days therein
mentioned, and it is expedient that a special
Circuit Court shall be held for the Northern
District as hereinafter mentioned,

Now, therefore, I, the Governor, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and ap-
point that a Circuit Court shall be held at
Auckland, in the Northern District of the said
Colony, on Monday, the eight day of July
next, for the despatch of criminal business
only. Provided that the hereinbefore recited
Proclamation and the Appointments thereby
made shall not be annulled, varied, or altered
by this Proclamation.

and issued under the Seal of the

Colony of New Zealand, this
twenty-first day of June, in the
year of our Lord, one thousand
eight-hundred and sixty-one.

IT is hereby notified that a Writ issued for
the election of a Superintendent for the Pro-
vince of Otago has been returned with an en-
dorsement to the effect that

JOHN LARKINGS CHEESE RICHARDSON,
has been duly elected.

IT is hereby notified that a Writ issued for
the election of a Superintendent for the Pro-
vince of Taranaki has been returned with an
endorsement to the effect that

CHARLES BROWN
has been duly elected.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursu-
ance of the provisions of the Imprison-
ment for Debt Ordinance, Session 3, No. 7,
the Court will sit at Auckland on Wednes-
day, the seventeenth day of July next, for
the hearing of applications for relief, and
for the despatch of all business arising under
the provisions of the above Ordinance.
