Warrant abolishing Polling Place.

Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Ma-
jesty's Colony of New Zealand,
and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c.,
&c., &c.
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME
GREETING:
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elec-
tions Act, 1858," it is enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Governor, by Warrant
under his hand, from time to time, to appoint
Polling Places for each Electoral District
within or without the limits thereof, and to
appoint any one of such Places to be the
Principal Polling Place for the District, and
all or any of such Polling Places at any time
to abolish, and to appoint other Polling Places
in lieu thereof: AND WHEREAS by Warrant
under the hand of the Governor bearing date
the nineteenth day of November one thousand
eight hundred and sixty,
Mr. Clarke's Station at Waimate,
was appointed a Polling Place for the Bay of
Islands District for the election of Members of
the House of Representatives. AND WHEREAS
it is expedient to abolish the same.
NOW KNOW YE, that I, Thomas Gore
Browne, the Governor of the said Colony, in
pursuance of the power aud authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby abolish the
above-named Polling Place for the Bay of
Islands District for the election of members
of the House of Representatives.

Warrant giving effect to the "Foreign Sea-
men's Act, 1860," in respect of Ships of
the United States of America.
IN exercise of the powers vested in
me in that behalf by the "Foreign
Seamen's Act, 1860," I, the Governor of
New Zealand, do hereby notify that from aud
after the 1st day of February next, the pro-
visions of the above mentioned Act will be
enforced in respect of the Masters and Crews
of ships belonging to the United States of
America.

IT is hereby notified for general information
that the firing for the Prizes voted by the
Legislature of New Zealand, for the best shots
amongst the Militia and Volunteer Forces,
will take place simultaneously throughout each
Militia District, on the 24th May next.
The best shot will receive the sum of Β£140,
and a Champion Badge, which will be chal-
lengeable in each succeeding year.
The ranges for the firing will be 100 yards,
200 yards and 300 yards respectively. Should
two or more persons score an equal number of
points, the ties will be shot off at 400 yards.
