tion of arms, after the competition for Govern-
ment prizes, it is found that the Rifle used by any
winner of a prize has been in any way tam-
pered with or altered, the prize to which he
would otherwise have been entitled will be
withheld.

THERE being reason to believe from the
very large consumption of Stationery in
the Public Service that much is used unneces-
sarily, the Heads of various Departmen's
are directed to impress upon their subordinate
officers the necessity for enconomy in the use of
Stationery, and with this view, also to cause
all official correspondence, which will not occupy
more than one page, to be written on half
a sheet of foolscap.

TENDERS FOR FIREWOOD.

TENDERS will be received at this office
until noon of SATURDAY, the twenty-
seventh instant, for furnishing the Offices of the
General Government with Firewood, in such
quantities as may be required, for the six
months, commencing the 1st May next.

The rates per ton to be specified for the
usual size, and also for such as may be re-
quired to be cut and split to suit the fire-
places in the Public Offices, to be delivered at
the several Public Offices.

of Wellington, under the provisions of the
"Native Reserves Act, 1856."

following Name of an OFFICIATING MINISTER,
within the meaning of the said Act, is pub-
lished for general information:-

Births, Deaths, and Marriages, in New Zea-
land, do hereby certify that the foregoing
NAME of an OFFICIATING MINISTER, within
the meaning of "The Marriage Act, 1854,"
has been sent in to me, in addition to the
Names in Lists published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 6, of the 31st of January, and
No. 15, of the 21st of March, in the present
year.

Given under my hand, at Auckland,
this second day of April, 1861.

I, JOHN BOYLE BENNETT, Registrar
of Joint Stock Companies within the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify
that I have registered a Memorandum of
Association, with Articles of Association an-
nexed, establishing a Company (with limited
liability of the Shareholders therein), entitled
"The Waihoihoi Coal Company, Limited,"
the objects of which are "the working of
Coal, Iron Ore, Clay, and other Minerals,
and vending the same"; and that, in pursu-
ance of the provisions of "The Joint Stock
Companies Act, 1860," I have issued a
Certificate of Incorporation of said Company,
bearing date this twenty-first day of March
1861.
